It does, thank you. Though my face is on fire, and the night me and the wife are going out was possibly not the best time to have my first go lol

Anyone know what the Gillette 7 o'clocks yellow/ orange blades are like?
These yellows...are they like the bic razors ie very cheap and cheerful? If so, upgrade to something better because those razors are not good if you've just started shaving
Three blades that are very good and very cheapNot tried the oranges but the yellows are sharp. Very, very sharp nigh on feather sharp I'd say. I bought 100 of them for £10.99 from Shaving Shack a while back (offer is still on) and I'd say I can get about 2 really good shaves from each blade.
I'd highly recommend them - I've tried Derbys, Feathers, Lords, Treets and a few others but these are the ones I use the most and would recommend.

No, nothing of the sort, the yellows might be cheap (£12 for 100) but they're very good. Most blades are cheap though - the only ones that aren't massively cheap are the Feathers and I'd say that the 7 O'clock Yellows are very close to them.

Sounds like one or both of the following two things.Any tips?
Sounds like one or both of the following two things.
1) Pressure. Don't use ANY at all! Let the weight of the razor do all the work. Find the centre balance point of the razor and hold it at that place as you shave.
2) Overshaving. If there's no lather on your face, the blade shouldn't touch it. So if you feel you need to go over a certain patch again, pick up your brush and apply some more lather.
If you're used to using a Mach3 or similar cartridge razor, you'll probably find that you normally do both the above, both apply lots of pressure and overshave the same spot multiple times. Don't do either and you'll be absolutely fine.
What do people recommend to soothe and moisturise your face afterwards?
After Shave Care
Gone are the days of throwing alcohol on your face in an absurd kind of sadistic man test. This can just agitate your freshly shaved skin and cause rashes. Instead use a quality post shave balm, to soothe your skin and "seal" it.
