***The Official Manly Shaving Thread***

You can do a really quick search on that. I don't remember the specifics but there was some talk about i products (Braun, I think?) which did not involve proper shaving.

Cheers. I'll check the jungle out.

I was helping my girlfriend tidy up some of her Dad's spare rooms at the weekend and I stumbled upon a cuthroat and a DE razor glued onto some green felt and shoved into a wooden frame. I can only assume it's one of those pants decorative items found hanging on local pub walls.

Anyway I managed to "unglue" both of them from the felt, the straight razor has quite a big nick so I'm not sure it's serviceable but the DE might still work.

I need to sterilize and give it a go.

Pics might be interesting

What are people's favourite DE blade? I've tried the Feather and Derby blades so far and found that the Feathers were a little too sharp and gave me razor rash, whereas the Derby blades seemed about right, they provided a close enough shave without any discomfort or redness.

I use Feathers. If you like Derbys then perhaps try Astras, which are similar.

I use Feathers & Gillette Yellows, tried Derbys and they're fine but I find I get 1 more shave per blade from the Gillettes for approx same price.

I prefer the Israelis or Gillette 7's. Not tried my Feathers yet though (had them since I started).
Found that Derbys were okay to start with but quickly needed something a bit better.
Not overly impressed with Wilkinson Sword, they are my reserve blade should I ever run out and I keep a pack in my wash kit when away

Personna Med Prep for me. If they Derby blades work for you, use them! Don't feel that you have to use Feathers, it's not compulsory :)

So far I've found Persona Platinum and feather to be brilliant in a 34c, with feathers being the best. This is trying with a few different soaps, but Mitchells Wool Fat is brilliant, even with fairly hard water.

Feathers by far. All the others seem exactly the same to me, only Feathers stand out. :)
