***The Official Manly Shaving Thread***

So I'm currently using Taylor's of Old Bond Street aftershave balm.
Girlfriend and I really like the scent and I like the way it leaves my skin. Only probably is the tube feels like I've used most of it already.
So does anyone know anywhere I can get it in bulk or larger tubes than the 75ml?
Or does anyone know a similar product that is cheaper?

It feels empty but it probably isn't. I bought my current tube in July 2014! Which one are you using, they do some different scents. I've got both Shaving Shop which I love and the Sandalwood which is OK but I find the scent a bit overpowering.

As RoboCod says though, you really only need a tiny amount each time. It should last for ages.

I used to use Nivea sensitive post shave balm before I started DE shaving.
I like the TOBS luxury balm because of the scent and it's not as grease/oily/runny as the Nivea one.
The one I'm using doesn't have a specific scent on the bottle.

Just a heads up Nivea stuff is half price currently at Wilko's. I've been after some post balm for a while but didn't want to pay £5

It is good stuff. That is all use post shave. I've collected a load of the stuff from Christmas presents over the years. Will keep em going for a good while.

Any recommendations for shaving soap/cream? I'm struggling to get a consistent lather from the Proraso Soap, I'm nearing the end of the tub. Its either too thin or I struggle to lather it around my face. Hoe much of achieving a good lather is down to the brush? I don't remember always having this problem.

Pre-and-post shaving cream like Proraso: can someone tell me when that fits into their routine please? Do you apply it to the skin, then a shaving foam/cream brushed on top and then shave?

Then use it as a balm afterwards?

I've only ever used it as a pre-shave. Wet face, slap some on, then face lather some cream on...that's it really. Wouldn't have thought it would be much use as an after balm, doesn't seem the right consistency to absorb properly.

Yes.

Although I don't use mine post shave as the alum block does the job.
