Awesome game.

My favourite move so far was hiding behind an AC unit, waiting for the guy in the distance to reload then vaulting onto the top of it and dodge jumping off the top towards them guns blazing :D

I wouldn't recommend using msconfig for service handling, rather:
Right click My Computer > Manage
Services & Applications > Services
Double Click "NVIDIA Stereocopic 3D Driver Service"
Click "Stop" if the service is running
Set the Startup type to "Manual" or "Disabled" depending on whether you use 3D for other games.
Click OK and exit out of the Management window.

You can reverse the settings to get your 3D back if needed with out having to reboot.

Mad with you mate. Really getting on my blimmin ***'s now. Keeps doing it to me too. Maybe some developers should spend 5% less time making BAFTA award winning cut scenes to pat themselves on the back with and actually making the sodding game playable!

Mine took about 5hrs or so to download this huge game!

The strange thing is there is a dodgy version out :p, that's only 10GB as it's only english and the movies are downsized. Amazing how much space is wasted as you are downloading other languages via retail!
 
Doubt it will work correctly all the way through. The levels folder alone on my Steam version is 10GB and there's no obvious references to any specific language files. The videos are 8GB and the models folder is about 5GB. I can't see any way they could get the game ripped down to 10GB at all. The voices won't have been done in different languages so the other supported languages are only going to be in the game as text anyway.

It is probably extremely compressed. When the game gets unpacked it will be 20 GB most likely.
 
One thing that is really annoying me is a lack of ammo. I killed four people in a room, then it went straight to a cutscene in which Max left the room.....without picking up any ammo, so I am just put straight in to another firefight with 5-6 enemies with 2 bullets left. This has happened a lot.
 
5 hours?! Blimey, mine took about 11. I think Virgin throttled back my speed to 300kbps most of the time. It was Friday night though and the whole of the world was probably doing the same.
The update in the pic is now strolling along at 280kbps instead of 1.2meg. Looks like I'm off to **** the Foresworn tonight, Max will have to wait till he's fixed. Shame..

Well

- Languages removed
- Movies recoded to 1280x720 with good bitrate
- High Compression

All that makes a difference over our massive retail version, 5+hrs is still a lot on my broadband at 1.5meg speeds 15mbit connection :(
