Mouse and keyboard for me, pads for any shooter seems retarded to me.

I personally quite like the game, it has it's moments in the story where its cheesy and rubbish, but that's Max Payne.

Oh I came to accept long ago that I am rubbish at these games;)...and I do spray bullets around happily, but with this I found that I would clear out a room with just a few bullets left but the game just pushes you straight in to the next area after the last enemy goes down for some reason, with no possibility of going back, so you start the next area with just a handful against 10-15 enemies. God knows why Max is suddenly unable to open a door so I can go back and pick up their ammo!? :p
 
I am torn between mouse and x360pad. I finished the game yesterday and played with mouse all the way. Then I tried pad and it has the advantage of actual trigger accompanied by rumble feedback, so the shooting feels better. Aiming sucks though. So both control methods are not ideal, frankly. If only someone could combine the two.
 
Anyone else found that when they go into slow mo aiming (not jumping slow mo) that the crosshair always seems to appear in the wrong place, for me it should be about another inch to the left. It just doesn't feel like it has the same centre that other crosshairs do in other games.
 
The only annoying thing I have found is the amount of time it takes to get up after a dive. I hardly use bullet-time as it just makes things complicated, it's not as well used as it was in the first two games.

It definitely needs the flip thing that he used to do to get up after a bullet dive.
 
Just been reading some of the topics and post on the Steam forums about MP3 , what a load of bitching about the game....console ports...****** graphically....unplayable...and as usual ''Im waiting till this game is half price'' . Now Ive played the game and all of the MP's and Rockstar I can say have outdone them selves , It the most PC game ive played in a long time, Best graphic game in a long time on Max Settings, and the most playable. What is wrong with these people ? The reason the PC gaming industry doesnt get many proper PC games any more is because of ''Im waiting for it to be half price'' or ''it isnt optimized for my 10 year old pc'', Developers like Rockstar are only gonna make more games for PC if we as gamers start getting out of this attitude of ''half price games'' as this industry cannot survive like that especially on a AAA rated game... Anyway my rant over.
 
Well if it's unplayable ofcause they are going to moan about the game...

However graphically I think it's fine and it's great to have all those graphical options and for me runs sweet as :)
 
I'm enjoying it so far. I do miss the film noir/comic book storytelling and the cinematic camera effects and words flashing on the screen got old after the first 5mins.

I don't bother with shoot dodges, it's much easier to just enter normal bullet time and head shot everyone with a couple of bullets in the face then turn it off again.

I'm having a PITA with unstable frame rates & dying a lot... but that second bit is down to me, lol - I seem to suck at this game.

Those are my only two whinges... otherwise good :)

Quite impressive how they've managed to get such decent looking graphics to run at such a high frame rate... I just wish it wasn't darting around all over the place! Frame rate limiter seemed to improve things, but not by much :(

excellent game as usual from R*

i really liked the naked brazillian whores in this game, big ass and curvy body, hmmm yummy

Nope! Just can't get on with the mouse in the game for some reason. Like I've said before though, the game feels like it lends itself to the pad anyway so I'm not too bothered. Still good fun sitting back and playing through it with the pad!
