*** THE OFFICIAL MAX PAYNE 3 THREAD ***

29

anyone have problems saving the game? it doesnt always continue from the point i left off, i had to replay at least half an hours worth today.

yeah, the only time mine crashed was at the start of the Favella stage, and when I reloaded I was back in the fire of the previous Act.. most wierd.

Just started playing this.
my feedback so far:

The Good:
:Optimized [570s] running maxed
:Graphics are nice.
:Quite fun
:narrating of himself [sin city like]

The Bad [not to fond off - Don't hate]
:Max Feels a bit heavy now Unreal character feel [ seems weird with bullet time]

:The guns don't keep strong at all specially against kevlar guys in the stadium
[ive had headshots not kill]

:The cut scenes sometimes are bit to long, [skip cut scenes skip story] :(

: cant skip retry cut scene when you die? or am I missing it?

:Gun Sounds seem bit meh

:Can't really bullet time affectively any more you just die as he's to heavy

:Quite a few minor bugs that spoil things like body's in walls after they die
: not always saving keybind load outs

Sidenotes:
Its Fun
Story seems to be getting good.
Alt-tab pauses game :)
might try controller see if it feels better
30GB why so large? high res cut scenes anyone maybe? is it that loong?

so far though i think its worth £10 of my £30 we shall see later as I haven't got very far.

finished the singleplayer last night

on the whole really enjoyed it - (once i could get the autosave to work!)

excellent story / characters, graphics were very good and ran very well on my 6950 maxed out

liked the change of sceney for all those that moaned it wasnt in newyork / snow all the way though

would have easily made a good Die Hard game as well :D

tried the multiplayer too and OMG what a load of pap ha

lol the multiplayer aint that bad, better than most :D

oh it is bad!

spawn - look around - get shot - dead
spawn - look around - get shot - dead
spawn - shoot someone who happens to run out in front of me - someone shoots me in the back of the head - dead
spawn - run around for a second get shot in back of head - dead

repeat! :p

Add the cheaters to the mix and th fact that you cannot leave the loading screen while the level loads. It's irritating to sit there for minutes just to leave and search for another "server". :)

Anyone had the issue with the save game? I have twice sat down and got to chapter 5 which the auto save icon always shows at the checkpoints. Shut down the game come back to it the next day and its not reading the save and thinks I am starting over again.

Had a look about and there is very little on it. Not tried the online as yet but I have heard its bad with the cheaters and aim bots already xD

i got past the cabinet but, had to restart the game then instantly worked.

most annying thing about this game is
1. enemies take to many bullets to die. leg 1 shot 3 chest shots. 4 headshots.. ? how does that work?

2. also he drunken cinematic are getting on my nerves now.

I usually find one head shot does the trick, unless they are wearing a helmet.
It really depends on the armour they are wearing though, those UFE guys can take a lot of lead unless you put one in an exposed head.

The last-man-standings seem to be a one-bullet kill to the torso, and in those scripted slo-mo scenes
e.g while on the bus
it only seems to take one shot in the torso to kill

Looking forward to playing, unfortunately for me i decided to use Steam instead of popping into town and Virgin in their infinite wisdom have cut my 100mb download speed of 11.1mb/sec to just under 1mb/sec :( so another 5 hours of waiting before i can play :(

Nice to see theres been an update from R* already to address the mouse slowdown issue when in bullet time mode. Now its nice and smooth.

Thats why I like R* so much, they looked at the consumers feedback, probably the forums (like the steam one) saw people ranting about the slow mouse in bullet time mode and addressed it less than a week after release.

Awesome game from an awesome developer. Would you get that kind of service from EA.........I think not.

i still cant get over how un-max max is. Its like your playing as max payne and duke nukems secret love child or something. I know rockstar arnt known for writing games with good dialogue or storylines so for a first attempt this is really good but its no where near as good as previous games.
