*** THE OFFICIAL MAX PAYNE 3 THREAD ***

The worst thing about bullet time in this game, it is slows you down too. On the previous games you could still move the mouse pointer at full speed whilst in bullet time, which is basically where the advantage came from. Not so in this game, you have to dragdragdrag the mouse across, it's too slow and takes away most of the advantage that bullet time gives.

Nice to see theres been an update from R* already to address the mouse slowdown issue when in bullet time mode. Now its nice and smooth.

Thats why I like R* so much, they looked at the consumers feedback, probably the forums (like the steam one) saw people ranting about the slow mouse in bullet time mode and addressed it less than a week after release.

Awesome game from an awesome developer. Would you get that kind of service from EA.........I think not.

Glad that they updated this annyance, but still, I wish they would fix Max's alzheimers - i.e. forgetting which weapons was selected before a cut-scene and defaulting to the pistol with 1 bullet remaining. And also Max taking an age getting back on his feet after a slow-mo dodge. Yep, he's older now, but come on! OAP Max against instant headshot AI is frustrating as hell!

Turn mouse slowdown options off in the options menus?

My bullet time aim is identical to real time.

i still cant get over how un-max max is. Its like your playing as max payne and duke nukems secret love child or something..

Ha Ha Ha....how funny, I was thinking this exact thing today....sometimes I really felt like I was playing Duke Nukem, with some of the dialog Max says....funny to see someone else thought that. :p

Frustrating. You need to use bullet time all the time or you're dead meat pretty quick. Enemies have uncanny accuracy, but if you are on a roll in bullet time, its' good fun.

Also, collect pills, but don't use them (or only if you're full up).

I don't get the aggro, it's more of a Bruce Willis Simulator than the old max Payne, but it's good fun.

Anyone had the issue with the save game? I have twice sat down and got to chapter 5 which the auto save icon always shows at the checkpoints. Shut down the game come back to it the next day and its not reading the save and thinks I am starting over again.

had the game crash a few times reloasding checkpoints (or jumping into some heavy machinery), but save game seems fine.

i think the game would be better without the bullet time tbh..

i dont know why but something just doesnt seem right with having to use bullet time nearly constantly or the game often seems to hard....

i dont remember bullet time beeing a must use thing in the other max paynes?

Yeah, rockstar appealing to all the 13 year old grand theft auto players :D A bit of me liked it but it just isnt max payne. the game play is perfect (well I couldnt care for the cover system) But it feels fresh and up to date.

but the dialogue isnt max at all, I dont think the writers understood the character at all

Quite the contrary, you could finish the game without using bullet time a lot, due to the cover system. I'm only staring to really use it now, on the second play-through, after the patch and the smoother controls that came with it.

Have to disagree with this, find myself using bullet time just for coolness.
