The surface 2 is nice and fast but i never tried the first one. If you a app monster you wouldn't buy one for me but as a general use tablet, internet has the best experience i used on a tablet yet, just like a full blown browser.

For internet, emails, Facebook etc its a great tablet and due to being widescreen does offer the best browsing experience out. For streaming movies straight from your pc its fantastic.
 
Hmmm, I think my pro 2 has the old charger. Anyone know if the surface 2 charger has the light on the top or side?

Forum members might want to have a read of that article and then decide for themselves the level of hilarity, or whether the suggested reviewer is a pro-Microsoft "frothing at the mouth fanboy".

His latest article draws a comparison between Microsoft making Windows 8.1 a free update for people on 8.0 with Apple making OS X Mavericks free to anyone who is using OS X 10.6 or newer, which came out in 2009, and heavily implies that Microsoft's offer is the better one because it affects more people. One article where he doesn't think the Surface RT is worth buying doesn't change my opinion favourably, that's just the view of a sane person.

The Verge is biased towards reporting positively about Apple, and in the majority of ocassions Thurrott is just as bad about Microsoft.

Magically my Redcar Argos (Which was due stock like Monday-Wednesday) is reporting 1 available Surface 2 (Just like Billingham..)

I've just reserved it, but hopefully it'll be mine tonight.

Half tempted to go into work late.

They work fine on my surface 2 rt.

The annoying thing is, is its not even a limitation. Its the requesting htm5 video bit. This forum and/or youtube did fix it at one point, but its broke again.
 
Ordered my Pro 2 and Type Cover 2 from John Lewis for delivery before 10.30am.

My Type Cover has just been delivered, but no Surface... :confused:

It better arrive before 10.30am! No idea why it would come on different vans though!?
 
Sorted it by running this command in IE

ms-windows-store:WindowsUpgrade

Once I did that, I had a download prompt in the store show up. (no % done window though)

Checked Task Manager and it was downloading, left it for an hour or so and I had a 'click ok to install' prompt.

It's just completed
