any chance of letting us in on the deal?

It was a one of deal me mate had them and I got the last one thankfully, there is a bloke on ebay selling them for £575 cash if you pick it up from Stoke On Trent(£635 through ebay) as I was tempted with one myself from him to start with. There is still one on there.

Love it mate had a Surface 2 RT which was fine but I just wanted the full experience, the battery life isn't as good as the RT though and I do miss the 2 position kick stand but that's not a big issues to me for the difference between the two, you will deffo be plugging it in more lol.

I understand the Surface 2 Pro is much better on that side and does have the same kick stand and the obvious specs boost, I really like the pen you get with it also very useful.

£575 for a brand new Surface pro 128gig or a extra £225 for 128gb S2 Pro a small speed boost, better battery and kickstand, was just out of my price range.

I'm becoming very interested in the Surface 2, really like the broad functionality.

What app is there to playback MKV's/H.264 video files on Windows RT?

VLC is due to be released at some point as there is an ongoing Kick Starter project though they do seem to be struggling.

In the meantime I use mobile.HD, it costs £2.59 but well worth the money.

In reality what do you get in terms of battery life?
Only seen the Surface Pro once in the flesh and that was at PC World but they didn't have a stylus for it - took them 15 mins to find one for me, and then there was no Office programmes installed - so no software to try out!
They argued that the Surface Pro didn't come with Office programmes installed - I tried to reason with them that probably the main reason why someone would buy the Surface Pro was for full use of Windows/Office so it would make sense to have a demo unit running these programmes. they couldn't understand the logic in this!
How Microsoft could learn from Apple in this respect!

With CPU and GPU running maxed and WiFi it can be flattened in a little over 3 hours from what I reading

The stylus works with everything, hover over things and you get a mouse pointer.

They probably want to avoid confusing people, especially with RT coming with Office.

Hell, I'd say about half the population think Office comes with Windows anyway. They certainly seem surprised when they see the bill.

As far as I was aware, Fifa 14 was already on Windows Phone, I know it's at the very least coming to it.
But there's nothing as far as I'm aware for RT, we haven't got Angry Birds Star Wars 2 either :(

EDIT : What could I use to stream games to the Surface 2? (So I can control them with the Xbox 360 control on the Surface, lay in bed for example)

I used Kainy on Android and it wasn't too bad, I could play PES without any real lag.

EDIT 2 : My Surface 2 is no longer syncing wallpapers.

Has anyone got sky go working on their pro or pro 2?

I get the schedule and have Silverlight installed, in desktop mode.

Any ideas?

Yeah, I have just got Sky Go working on my Pro 2. Had to install Silverlight first. Then when tried to watch a channel in IE11, a pop up at the bottom of the screen said that running Silverlight app could be a security risk and I clicked "Run Control."

Also remember you are only allowed 2 registered devices so check the managed devices section of Sky Go.

This is one major feature to have over my old Surface RT. Wish Sky would make an app though.

They only had a Surface RT at PCW, not the Surface 2.

Had a little play and it was decent. I wish the screen was 16:10 as I prefer browsing the web on portrait. The weight of ~670g also burdened it a tad.

Will have another go when they get the 2 in.

Im seriously considering the Nokia 2520 as I love their HERE maps, just weighing up whether to go RT or not, going to wait a little while to see if any bay-trail tablets appear as that would be ideal from me, but otherwise the Nokia might a viable alternative

I'm with you on that, I think its just the precious RT had the more premium feel from the back on it, plus my volume rocker button rattle a little when using it.

True Tha.
My numbe. 2 seems to like uppads o. Marks, it's go. Olive 3 hairihe marks o. It.
