WOW, my eBay purchase for £548.50 came with a receipt.

Was purchased in a store on Thursday for £799 cash.

Crazy.

I can't understand it.

First I was thinking it must have been credit card fraud (they purchased it with a stolen card) or I would not even get the item.

But when it arrived with a cash receipt I'm like :confused:.

However this store has a return policy if you have opened it you can't take it back unless faulty.

I think the whole forum knows you're talking about the purple shirt brigade, they will fight tooth and nail to refuse to replace or refund when somethings wrong. When I bought my Nexus 7, I asked if I could have a quick check for dead pixels, "NO" was the reply, so I told him if there are any I'll be bringing it back, he replied "There needs to be more than 5 per square inch for us to replace it". One dead pixel would irritate the hell out of me, less than 6 in a square inch and they would refuse a replacement. Luckily there were none, but many a N7 were plagued by them. I will never set foot in any of their stores again.
 
Yes, your correct.

The moral of this story is buy expensive items online so you can use the distance selling regulations to send things back.


Need to work on reducing my accidental surface collection!

I've ordered a new Type Cover 2 (in Purple) so the collection will get a little bigger first.

I have currently have 3 out of the 4 I have boxes for, the saga is:

1) Surface RT (was stolen in Spain) I only had this a very short time and it was very new and apparently it got better with newer firmware. 5/10.

2) Surface Pro purchased as a replacement for the RT and a Macbook Air in one device, 6.5/10 I love the pen, but the battery life and weight reduces the usefulness.

3) Surface 2. Purchased just because I could, I got it days before the official release and was curious. Did not plan to buy it.

Made a few terrible YouTube videos and kept quite a few people entertained whilst everyone waited for the release. But compared to the Surface Pro its a much nicer tablet, the size and weight are great. 8/10

4) Surface Pro 2, too cheap to ignore. Battery life if its better then the Pro will make it significantly more useful. 8/10.


The more I play with the Pro 2 the less appealing the Surface 2 is. Its very nice but the Pro does so much more and adblock on the browser is great.


The Surface Pro is definitely being sold, The Surface 2 I'm not so sure. Tempted with an 8" Windows Atom tablet to complement the Surface Pro 2.

Who knows, next week I might replace them all with the 256GB 8GB Ram version.

Hmm that's a damn good point, certainly didn't think of that one.

RT and WP8 apps are sandboxed, which means adblocks are impossible, but they're immune to viruses. Hmmmm venue 8 pro if the price is right?

Yeah, I'm looking that way. Venue 8 has sort of an issue in that you can't charge it and use the USB port at the same time.

Trade off for charging with micro usb I guess.
 
I made a mistake buying a Nexus 7 because I was spoilt by the wireless charging of the 920, as much as I want the Dell 8 Pro, I really want the wireless charging.
 
I currently have a Surface 2 and the only thing to let it down is the lack of apps/software. I will most likely get a Surface Pro 3 next year + keyboard and get rid of this Surface 2 then.
 
Had an RT, got a Pro 128gb, waiting for my Pro 2 256gb to arrive, they are the most popular ones, should get mine next Friday hopefully...
