*** The Official Microsoft Surface Thread ***

Firmware update out today for Surface 2. Battery life improvements are coming, apparently. I can't say I've suffered any battery problems personally, I find it about the same as the original.

Although I suppose if the new version is supposed to be good for an extra couple of hours then maybe I am having an issue.
 
I picked up the Purple Type Cover 2.

Its super!

My current favourite thing is waving my hand near it and watching it light up.
 
Wish I could get a surface pro 2 128GB for £550 on ebay think I will be checking the site more so lucky POB can't make my mind up to buy one though waiting till January 2014 an see what choices I have will be not using it for work just for light gaming an stuff I use my ipad 2 for now.

The iPad is a different beast tbh and if it does what you want then I'm not sure what you are expecting from the Surface.
Perhaps some of the other Win8.1 based tablets might be more to your suit, some of the Atom based units perhaps, depends what sort of gaming you are planning on doing...
 
Just love the idea of playing Civ 5 using the touch screen the atom windows 8 tablets won't be powerful enough gaming wise for me an I have the spare cash to pay the extra for the surface pro 2 just love gadgets I know I don't really need it but still want it lol.
If the surface pro 2 128 GB was say £749 with free type cover 2 would be a instant buy mircosoft can sell it even cheaper in the USA really sucks.

Ruby selling 3 surface pro 2 looks very fishy on ebay I won't be bidding at any price.

Think I've made my mind up soon I see John Lewis have stock of 256 GB surface pro 2 will be buying it but won't get the type cover 2 have few really nice Bluetooth keyboards already will try first and it will seem cheaper without the keyboard lol.

Ruby it selling 5 surface pro 2 this week on ebay way too fishy risky not getting my money.
Emailed her about the items she replied......buys in bulk ect...... No other details lol.
Only seems to sale cloths an now all this hi-tec gear on quick auctions.

Be interesting to compare the 128Gb and the 256Gb ones on disk access given the normal SSD performance deltas.
