The Official My Console Died What Should I Do Thread?

Hey

My 360 drive has been buggered for about 6 months now , it closes but refuses to stay closed and I'm also out of warranty. MS want to charge me £50 to get it repaired but could i open in up before hand because apparently it's just a magnet which has come loose. If i do open it up , will the still repair it for a price ?

My Elite had a red quadrant in the bottom right. I still had about 4 months warranty left but me being the stupid c*nt that i am, i opened it trying to fix it with no luck :(

I'd rather pay another 200 quid for a brand new one than microsoft spending 60 ****ing years fixing mine.

That sums me up pretty much haha
 
My xbox went back today, it survived about 2 and a half years!

One thing I've just noticed though is I didn't test it with the hard drive removed..

Fail.

Fingers crossed it's not the Hard drive that caused the 3 red lights
 
Mine rrod'd for the 2nd time last week at 4 years old. Did the x clamp fix and stuck it in the oven and now it works again. Hooray!!!

My 360 went to RROD hell a few minutes ago. Obviously the first port of call is OcUK...

Out of warranty so I'll go and get the xclamp repair kit, I've done it before on a mates, simple enough.
Still, why tonight? It was the only thing keeping me occupied!
 
My console froze up 3 times last night in the dashboard and in game :( The warranty is still active until early next year. Seems okay now but I just wanted to know, does it have to actually RROD before you send it in now? I remember when they first introduced the warranty cover it was only for RROD or something.
 
My 3+ year old 360 finally died on me for the 3rd time yesterday. Fixed it twice before, I really cba again. Started to look at new ones, wtf happened to the sub £100 arcades? I don't need a bundle as I have my games, HDD, controllers etc already, any ideas?
 
Has anyone had this errror. Turned on the 360 for the first time in a month.. no problems. Loaded up new game and screen was just black. Restarted and now even the OS isn't showing up just a black screen. No error lights or anything showing.

Damn it just bought Street Fighter 4 for 12.99 as well lol.
 
Mine started freezing when I tried to play 1vs100 last week but I use it every night for playing vids and that was fine. Started throwing up E79 errors and wouldnt boot today though, removed the HDD and i get 3 red lights every time.

Luckily, having had it repaired before theyd extended the warranty by a year and Im just inside it, UPS are coming tomorrow :).
