The Official Nexus S Thread

I’ve not experienced any problems to date. The USB mislabeling came with the update to 2.3.3. Did yours come with 2.3.3 or did you get the OTA?

Came with 2.3.3.

Re: the problems with settings not applying and pop up boxes not appearing, do people think that could be due to app incompatibilities with Gingerbread?

With regards to the differing screen types; I would pick the SAMOLED everytime - I like the fact I can actually use this phone in bright sunlight unlike I've been able to do easily with any LCD equipped phone.

Thanks mate, might try that out but the issues with the screen, WiFi etc. are putting me off. Maybe they stopped the rollout and will have a 2.3.4 with issues updated? I have still not been offered 2.3.3 OTA btw.

Lack of camera zoom and HD video is starting to annoy me...

How's everyone getting on with their phones then?

I'm still loving my i9023; I have the occasional wifi issue but so far it's succeeding where others are failing in a few areas. I've just come back from somerset where it was extremely bright and sunny - screen was perfect int he sun; very viewable where others had their hands cupped around their screens all the time.

Anyone running custom Roms? I'm on cyanogen 7 RC2 at the moment. I only switched so that I could connect to an ad-hoc network.... utterly stupid how you can't on stock android!

Anyone got a timeline on the next OTA??

No problems at all. Very stable, no crashes or restarts since the update.

Enjoying the phone more and more. I love how exclusive and smooth the whole phone feels. I'm not very good at tweaking or messing around with my phone, so just the stock ROM.

It just works. Glad I didn't wait for the dual core phones!

Just did the manual upgrade to 2.3.3 - not liking the change in screen hue - feels like I'm playing a Codemasters game with the p*** filter turned on. Also getting the problem with WiFi/3G.

Rock on 2.3.4...!

Nothing really happening as of yet.

No issues with the phone and the screen hue I'm not that fussed over as it seems fine to me. There is some good apps such as 'TV show stream' that works really well for the device and make it entertaining. Dropped it on a rock last week and the phone seems to be fine. Obviously the newer dual core Galaxy S2 is making me slightly jealous, but I welcome the advancement so that better apps appear in the android market.

PS. Below is a link to the live wallpaper seen on the galaxy S2 handset. It is weather aware and tt works fine so far on my Nexus S, not sure about other devices. I particulary like the windmill live wallpaper.

I love this phone. I know it's not going to be the latest powerhouse of the Android world but I do feel much safer knowing it's getting full Google support.

I think I'll wait for the next Google phone before I switch away. I'm glad the Nexus S is already smooth as silk though, won't make me wish I had a dual core. :)
