Has the USB connection prompt localisation been fixed? I've updated successfully but I don't have my cable with me so I can't check!
I love this phone. I know it's not going to be the latest powerhouse of the Android world but I do feel much safer knowing it's getting full Google support.
I think I'll wait for the next Google phone before I switch away. I'm glad the Nexus S is already smooth as silk though, won't make me wish I had a dual core.
I've got a Nexus S and an Optimus 2X and the 2X is noticeably quicker, even on its horrific stock ROM. If they can bring out Cyanogen 7 or even just a decent port of Gingerbread, consider the Nexus S sold. I love having a Google branded phone and being first to get the updates, but the Nexus S was released a bit too late IMO.
Well I don't run too many widgets or use live wallpapers but I do use LauncherPro and have background data on for apps, but it still feels smooth as silk so I'm happy with it really. It never seems to chug except on web pages that have tons and tons of images/flash stuff.
OK.
I arrived into work this morning and placed my phone on the desk. It started beeping randomly in the morning but there were no email or message notifications. I finally realised that it was reading the NFC chip from my passport which was resting under it!
I installed NFC TagInfo from the market, input some details which are used as decryption keys and it then decrypted my passport! The photo is stored on the chip which is pretty cool. The app allows you to input keys for mifare classic chips so you can read your oyster card information but I don't have the keys to hand.
I've also noticed that the 2.3.4 update allows you to delete any tags you have shared and couldn't remove previously.
