The Official Nexus S Thread

Like others have said it feel like a brand new phone. It feels faster and sleeker to me now. I've ditched a few apps and my old launcher. Yeah auto brightness is crazy, you can barley see the screen (I guess that is googles answer to batttery issues - virtually turn the screen off).

Don't like the way I can't delete some of the 5 screens I have. Only need 2 or 3!

Hey guys, seems like Google has pulled the 4.0.3 OTA update for the Nexus S. Seems like battery drain at idle is too high with android OS taking up too much from the battery. I have to agree, as much as I like ICS, I wish I was on stable gingerbread for the time being. Any easy way to go back after the update?

Yeah I noticed the Android OS process is using a lot more battery % in the stats, but I don't think it's negatively impacting battery life...

Currently 68% battery after 12h 35m... probably about normal given my usage.

Cheers,

Su

you dont, just find the 160mb full update file on xda and it will update from 2.3.1 - mine did.

Picked the phone up yesterday from cpw, really nice piece of kit for £200. Sold my desire for £120. £80 upgrade to ics seems like a bargain.

Just got the Nexus S from CPW for my wife... I think the screen is a little better than my Galaxy S, but actually I miss Touchwiz lol. I have to install a lot of programmes on the Nexus S to get the same stock functionality of the SGS.

I will flash to ICS once stable

i find ics to be stable (the 160mb file). battery life is ok too, currently on 61% for 10 hours 20 mins usage, of which i would say its moderately heavy usage.

Yup, I'm defo getting the battery problem...
