Hmm I kinda wanna stay stock/unrooted though... no way to get Wallet like this, I presume?

Have you got it working? Interested to hear if you've tried it in a store!

A small part of me is hoping/praying that Google are gonna pull something major before the Olympics and let me use my phone for payment/Oyster etc. :p
 
I used it to buy a roast chicken in Waitrose, yes. Unfortunately, a second time I tried, after a different ROM install, it wouldn't complete the transaction.

Even if I could, there then comes the bigger issue of topping up your card in the UK. Next to impossible.

I've decided to wait for something official, although there's a reasonable chance it wont work on a rooted phone.
 
I have an old AT&T GoPhone SIM somewhere (in my crypts!) which I could possibly use in the phone, but I don't know if roaming would work... does the device permanently have to be on a "supported" network for the Wallet application to load up, or does it just need to get activated first?
 
Slight higher?! I want the next update to 4.0.3 to stop the battery drain issues! How could it possibly get worse haha. Still awaiting official OTA update. I have no access to a decent computer for a few weeks to root and get the latest version. A solution to a problem that myself and Nexus18 have already mentioned that shouldnt have occurred.
 
Idle drain seems fine, but battery usage from the Screen seems way higher?!

Think it was like over 40% today, screen on about 2 hours, on battery for 15+ hours.

Let me keep testing over the next few days and I'll report back...

Have you tried searching for the update in the system menus ?

im running the Air kernal with 1200/200 NOOP and smartass v2 settings, gives pretty good life.

I got that OTA update too. Unfortunately it doesn't work :(

Reboot to apply, 10 seconds with the updating progress bar, then an error symbol. Power+VolumeUp shows the error:

file_getprop: failed to stat "/system/build.prop": No such file or directory

Sitting on 2.3.6. I've never rooted or otherwise messed with the phone. File explorer shows that build.prop DOES exist. Dead end.

Baseband: I9020XXKF1
Build: GRK39F
Vodafone UK contract.
 
Just got to update too.

Nice and snappy are my first impressions. Google chrome also loads instantaneously when first booted instead of hanging for three seconds before loading up the page.

I'm happy :)

Mine was totally stock as well unlocked though and on a Tesco sim
