ARGH! Amazon.de don't ship internationally, the order I placed was domestic shipping only.

Back to the drawing board, the only other options (Marketplace) are much more expensive.

I think I will try to get a PAYG or SIM free (even if it is locked) phone from the UK and get it unlocked.

It's amazing how much of a rip off currency conversion is. I calculated a price in Euros in GBP and it was 540, Amazon said it was 570.

Sorry, remind me, are you buying from the UK, for shipping to the UK?

Did they reject your order? Or did you get an email cancelling afterwards?

Starting to nerd rage about this now.

Why are Nokia making it so difficult for us to buy this phone? At this rate they'll only sell about 10 of these in the UK, 3 which are imported from the continent and 7 who bought it on contract with EE.

That t-mobile tariff is looking slightly nicer than EE's considering I don't have 4g here but 24 months :(

I can't quite figure out the point of 24 month contracts, they cost twice as much yet you only get 1 phone. Is there any situation where they make sense besides if you can't afford to spend much in one go?

I noticed it said "Domestic Shipping" (Inlandsversandkosten) next to the phone. Where as others say "Internationale und Inlandsversandkosten".

It was a pre-order and by the time Amazon processed the order I believe they would have just cancelled it. It was the white model which isn't in stock at the moment (at Amazon that is).

Am I right in thinking a sim-free locked 920 wouldn't be available for unlock right away?

Through official channels maybe. But 3rd party codes are becoming available. I'm not sure how they get the codes, it's either brute force cracking of the cryptography or they have an inside man at one of the operators.

The couple of unlock sites that I have seen are quoting a week on average to unlock, though could take 18 days at worse case scenario for AT&T

Im waiting for confirmation from a US site over how confident they are on their AT&T unlocks and if they are confident , then Im ordering the cyan lumia from bestbuy as that is the colour I really want..

Only issue is I don't think anyone has an EE handset to test on. Handsets from other countries will probably be okay though.

Dam I see this too. I can't find any way to email or message amazon.de to ask regarding this. I hope it's just a pre-order placeholder and that international shipping will be available once they have stock.

Cheers, I've got an order with Amazon.de for the black lumia for about £505, but it's out of stock and they don't know when they are getting them in. I was thinking of cancelling, and going down to P4U and getting the SIM free for about £450. Some sites I've looked at say it would cost £50 to unlock it but I'd want it unlocked pretty soon and not in 3 months time! I'd also get my wireless charger aswell. What do people think I should do? :)

It seems pretty lame that the site doesn't prevent you from ordering things you can't have.

I'm sure someone mentioned on this thread or somewhere else that they had their Amazon.de order cancelled. Obviously there are marketplace sellers, but their prices are too high. If I can get a SIM locked 920 in the UK and get it unlocked it will be cheaper.

It says the same for the black version, which I ordered yesterday. I guess we'll see...

Not that Amazon need much of a reason to cancel an order: I've ordered stuff from the UK website that has been at a historically very low price only to have the order cancelled a few weeks later and then the item immediately become available at a higher price. They simply didn't want to sell to me at the lower price.

I'm going to wait for my EE order to come. If phones4u have stock tomorrow them so will EE.

I was browsing ebay and saw the PadFone 2. So I bought one. The guy shipped it FedEx from Taiwan within half an hour which is fast!

Cost me £627 for a 32GB model with the tablet dock and FedEx shipping. I love FedEx because they send you a tax bill after you get the phone delivered and no up front payment.

What is really interesting is that the phone actually has 1800Mhz LTE support so it will work on EE as well so when I do get my Lumia I can use it in the PadFone 2 as well.

For those who don't know about the phone it's made by Asus and is a 4.7 inch 720p Super IPS display with a quad-core snapdragon S4 pro and 2GB RAM and a 13 Megapixel camera. It comes with a tablet dock which the phone slides into that the phone becomes the brain of but also charges the phone.

I wouldnt want to give P4U the business to be honest.
