This one looks really good on the Glance screen.

I wondered how Glance affected the battery life. Managed to squeeze 2 days 4 hours out of a single charge. Basically 2 and a half days with light use. Quite impressed.

I've seen this too with possibly up to 3 days if I had left it, obviously very light use. Conversely I've also seen absolutely terrible battery consumption too, eating through the battery in well under a day, I don't know if it was a misbehaving app or what.

For the most part I'm reasonably happy with the battery life on my 925, I just think WP8 needs a reboot every now and then, with my old Mozart it was just very consistent, I miss that phone, never ever did I have to reboot that thing.

Also despite the move everyone seems to be making to bigger screens I think the 925 is a tad too big for my tastes, I'm trying to go with it and get used to it but I think a little bigger than my Mozart would have been perfect, perhaps an 8X would have been a better phone for me, wouldn't have got the Nokia extras then though... Apologies, tangent and mini-rant over :-)

Awesome, but :( still no mention of xbox movies.

I guess you would lose all the nokia extras which are pretty vital, so not so sure im interested in that anymore.

Can anyone find a list of the hundreds of under the bonnet improvements?

Microsoft have announced GDR3 but more importantly got their Early Access Developer program that was announced last June up and running! Anyone with a developer account (if you don't have one I think it's relatively cheap to subscribe to one) will get early access to Windows Phone builds, starting with GDR3 later today!

I have a dev account, if I get to keep the Pro Cam & glance etc, I'll update.

Yeah its an OTA update which should just add stuff to the software and not effect the firmware at all, Im 90% sure you will keep everything but no doubt when its released many many people will try and feedback so Ill be holding off till Im 100% sure I keep glance.
Also the FREE app studio account thing counts as a developer account to be part of this so you dont need to spend your hard earned.

Only briefly read the T&Cs, 'Not to disclose any ...'

Anyway .... installing, 4% done. :D

edit: Yep, works fine on EE/T-mobile/Orange.
edit2: I've been poking about, a lots and lots of minor fixes, haven't found and major changes. Not sure why there was a Non Disclosure Agreement as it's all over the web and probably Apple/Samsung/Google HQ.

Impressive.

Financial Times today reported that Nokia is struck a deal with online video streaming provider Netflix to offer free subscription with Lumia Windows Phone 8 devices. Vodafone customers in UK will receive 1 year of free Netflix subscription along with their Lumia devices. More information on similar Netflix deals in other countries will be revealed soon.

FT reports that Nokia is mainly funding the subscription costs for this marketing program. Along with Vodafone, Phones4U is offering six months of Netflix on its range of Nokia devices which includes the Lumia 625, 925 and 1020. Also Vodafone is going to heavily support Nokia in advertising this Netflix deal Windows Phone devices.

Nokia is also planning for some trade-in programs where consumers will be able to bring their old digital camera to get Lumia 1020 at discounted price. I think it’s a great idea given the camera focus on the device.

Does anyone find that when loading music on, some tracks will play then before others there will either be a massive delay before it starts, if it starts at all.

Theres also a distinct lack of other media players for the os.

WOuld i be right in assuming the player has to buffer the album before it can play it, or maybe the files are fragmented somehow?
