Just about to buy a sim free unlocked 920 from tesco's . I have an old nokia n8 with an O2 pay as you go sim . Is it just a matter of switching the sim?? Sorry if its a silly question, all my past phones have been contract upgrades and have never bought sim free before . Unless you count my analogue nokia 101:D

The Lumia 920 uses a micro-SIM rather than a mini-SIM, so you'll need to cut your current SIM down to fit (your local cheap phone accessory stall should be able to do this), or get O2 to send you a replacement SIM of the correct size.

Anyone else have problems with certain apps? BBC iPlayer refuses to work, I open it and it just sits there "loading" for a few minutes before throwing a generic "we are sorry" message before closing. Any ideas?

I'm starting to wish I didn't bother with Windows Phone. Half the Google stuff is missing and the OS itself seems like a bug ridden mess. I've never got the ESPN app working, my lockscreen often won't unlock unless I press the power button to turn the screen off and on again, the battery life is pathetic and the browser is simply retarded.

Got the 520, iplayer works fine, it unlocks fine, don't have espn. Whats wrong with browser?

Sounds like your phone is dodgy with all those issues, try a wipe and if that doesn't work warranty it.

Edit - which espn app? Theres a load, just installed espn hub, links work, videos work etc.

Battery life depends on how you got it set up and what apps are doing what in the back ground.

It's the official ESPN one, just gives me the loading dots and then returns me to the home screen. Really annoyed at the lack of a forward button on the browser and speed dial would be welcome in IE too. Not to mention the search button being tied to Bing with seemingly no way for me to alter this, unless there's some glaringly obvious option I've missed!

It's a Lumia 820, not really sure why I have all of these stability issues, both with apps and the OS itself. Everything is up to date, speaking of updates I've also had problems with a couple of apps not updating. I've had to delete and redownload a few apps otherwise I just get some generic error when trying to download an update from the store, with a suggestion of restarting my phone which obviously never works!

Theres loads of official espn ones, so that doesnt narrow it down.

Google wont make apps for wp8, youll have to take that up with google.
As you are having such issues, there is something wrong, dont just restart, reset the phone back to factory and start again.

I use UC Browser on the odd occasion, has forward and quick link from home page e.t.c. Along with private browsing. Overall not bad but due to habbit, I use 80% stock, only 20% UC.

DO we have any kind of a hint that their will be a sequel to my 920?

The larger screens are just not for me, and love the 920, would love to see an updated version!

I cant see anything looking like it will be announced next week, but was waiting for their Tablet any ways.

Took my phone out of my pocket yesterday to find the spinning gears on the screen, after 2 hours I got bored so did a full reset.

The phone was previously updated on EE to the Amber update but has restored to the previous version, now when I try to update the phone it says that it's up to date. Rather annoying as I'd got used to the double tap and glance functionality.

Any ideas?

Have you downloaded all the updates in the store. Thats where most of the Nokia features are, not in the firmware update.

I think you need to wait for the Nokia stuff ( apps etc) to update first?

Not sure if theirs a way to force the store to get the updates though.
If you visit the marketplace page of an app and there is an update it tells you straight away, check the below link for QR codes for all the apps, to use if you havent before sdimply tap search button then the eye on the bottom and aim camera at the qr code, After tapping the link it will take you to the marketplace page where you can update.

Hi guys. When browsing and want to save a file, say a mp3 podcast, how do you do it? There seems to be no "save to" function.

Also is there a section here or maybe someone can list or link me good apps to install on the phone. I only recently got it and I am finding it slightly frustrating if I am to be honest. My previous phone was a Galaxy S2.

Right now I am thinking I may just go for a Nexus 5 when it comes out. But I want to give the phone a chance.
