Wait, so I should wipe my phone BEFORE I back it up? I'm currently on the Dev Preview now, but I'm thinking I'd like to go back onto the mainstream so I always have a stable platform. How do I do that?

You apply the backup after all updates been installed. Unfortunately if you're going back to what it was, before 8.1, you can't apply the 8.1 backup you have from Cloud, as far as I can tell...

Cheers that makes sense. So in theory do you think I could back up, wait for 8.1 to reach my network and then restore it, or am I stuck with the dev preview?

In theory, when 8.1 is officially released, the backup should work. Might be worth waiting for Elliot to reply on that, in case there's something we don't know.

I personally see it an opportunity to start afresh though.

Nokia website says its available now for CV but its not coming up on mine, guess it will be sometime in next few hours. Im currently on 3051.40000.1349.0007

Mine did the 8.1 update before Cyan. Are you on wifi with data turned off? i seem to remember the Black update not being seen till i turned data on then it downloaded via wifi.

Yes Cortana is UK now if your on the preview. Mine still not updating Im on preview and restarted,, wifi on wifi off data on data off etc

Cyan is very nice but its a bit harsher on the battery so far, hoping it just needs to settle in so to speak.

I'm a bit gutter UK Cortana doesn't read me my text messages anymore .. US version did, I'd get a text and Cortana would pop up without going anywhere near the phone and say "You have a new text message from ________, do you want me to read it or ignore it?" it was great, just shout "read it" and it'd do the obvious.

She still does it for me when I'm connected via BT.

Go under settings and Speech, you can turn her on for whatever settings you want.

Cheers for that, didn't know about that setting, all on but didn't work. Just reset the phone, hopefully that'll sort it.

Hey, got the updates on tonight and thought all was well but i've noticed when scrolling up and down or swiping from main tile screen to the app list, I am getting a screen tear/fuzzyness in the same place.

Is anyone else getting this? What should I do?
