GMail user?

I'm on Hotmail/Outlook, no problem. Best phone I've had in years.

Gmail and 2 of my own domain accounts + hotmail

Anyway, won an N5 off eBay. Tempted to post a 'spec me a way to destroy the phone' thread - it was good for a while but the hardware issue I've had coupled with the now software issues has tipped me over the edge, shame really.

Still on Lumia Black, WP8.1 DP.

With the latest update, my battery last 24 hours now with regular use (Wifi, BT turned on, music when commuting (30mins in total via BT) and loads of article reading and emails), compared to previous 15-18 hours.

Finally got Lumia Cyan from Orange/EE update release for DP users.

On a different note, I'm getting my phone unlocked. Does this mean I'll be able to get country variant updates or will it still be down to Orange/EE release?

You will still be on Orange/EE firmware so your updates will come from them. If you do some searching (XDA Developers) then you can find info on how to change the firmware to the Country Variant version. Be warned though as it requires a full device reset and like any firmware update, if it goes wrong then you can brick the device.

Anyone having battery issues since the update from a new days ago?
I usually charge my phone during the day at work, then use it for Waze on the way home, BT to the stereo/hands free, alarm in the morning, Waze on the way to work and then plugged back in again.

Since the update battery life hasnt been lasting between leaving work at night and getting back in the next morning....

Did you check what apps are running in the background after the update?, I found ALL the background tasks are set to on after an update, rather annoying.

Also an Off/on could help a bit.

It did an on/off on its own as the battery died lol, I tend to do one every few days anyways, just because.
I also shut down apps manually rather than leaving stuff running in the background.

*sigh* .......

Been due an upgrade since November, was holding out for MS to announce some new spangly device... waited ... and waited .. and waited. Nothing.

Finally gave in today and decided to get an 830, phoned up EE to order, none in stock ........ and they wont be getting any more in stock. All they had was the 930.

I'm now intrigued as to why they're running down their inventory.

Looks like I'm keeping the brick for a while longer.

Pretty much what I'm doing now, keeping the 920 till something good comes out.

I can easily switch over to Android (OnePlus One) but with what I've invested and the 920 not doing bad, just need the better battery life and camera upgrade, I'll just have to be patient.
