**** The Official Note 5 thread ****

No chance that there will be a 64GB Base model. Not unless it's a £650 starting price.

And no I don't need UFS2.0 speeds for bulk storage. Gimme 32GB+ onboard and an SD slot.

£650 with 64gb is fine. Note 3 was £619 at release but I guess everyones needs are different. Personally no desire to shoot at 4k as I dont have a 4k TV but its good some of you guys do!

I may have underestimated my guess of £650 for 64GB...

The 64GB S6 Edge on Samsung UK is a whopping £749 :D

Yeah that may have been wishful thinking haha.. Itll cost a fortune no doubt and if it loses the sdcard and battery will be even more polarizing than the S6

any idea how much it would actually cost to switch to a n5 from the n4 only half way through your current contract? im sure I read somewhere that with EE you have to pay about £250 + the phone your using.

I was hoping they would leave the iPhone like aesthetics for the S6 Edge Plus and this design would keep the removable battery and SD slot at the expense of that millimeter or two.

In all honesty all my phones have been at least 32GB for last 3 years so never had the need for the SD card slot but the battery option is great for me, for travelling and long term if I want to keep the phone for full 2 years and beyond. My HTC One M7 was still great but the battery was simply in poor condition after 18 months which forces an upgrade.

My Note 3 is starting to feel a little laggy now (to be fair always did compared to M7) so speed bump would be appreciated but camera is by far the biggest improvement I want to see. It's still great in daytime but you can see the S4 roots when it comes to low light performance, recently had a Huawei P8 for a week and that completely blew Note out the water in anything but perfect light.

i think it's time that thre galaxy s line just accepts it's main competition is the iphone series and just release s6 type devices. top of the range specs but budget iphone like product. everything sealed in, no sdcard. it's for the regular day to day smartphone buyer

the note series should be for the old school galaxy s fans. power users so battery and sdcards should be standard

Ram and chipset details:

We have received confirmation from our reliable insiders that the Galaxy Note 5 will feature 4GB of LP-DDR4 RAM. The Exynos 7422 SoC, that will debut with the Galaxy Note 5, will be the company’s first true single-chip solution (ePOP) combining an octa-core 64-bit CPU, GPU, RAM, storage, and the Shannon 333 LTE modem in the same package.

Maybe bad news If true...
Exclusive: No Galaxy Note 5 for Europe at launch?

We revealed a boatload of information on the Galaxy Note 5 earlier today (and on the Galaxy S6 edge+ as well), and we now have a few details on Samsung’s launch plans for the phablet over in Europe. Well, details on the lack of any such plans if we go by the fact that Samsung has currently put firmware development for the European region on hold.

Countries like North America, South Korea, China, Singapore, Hong Kong and Asia will be seeing the Galaxy Note 5 hit retail shelves, but neither Samsung Europe nor Samsung Russia seem to be working on the phone’s software. It’s not that the Note 5 won’t come to these regions at all, but it is possible the launch will be limited to a lesser number of markets than what we’re used to for Samsung’s flagship smartphones.

We’re only guessing here, but it’s also possible Samsung wants the Galaxy S6 edge+ to also see some attention in these regions when it launches alongside the Galaxy Note 5 in August; that could be why Samsung is delaying the latter’s release, and it could be that the company will follow its launch schedule of previous devices in the series and complete worldwide availability somewhere in October or later this year.

Like everything we learn from our insiders, anything and everything can change in the future, but for now it looks like consumers in Europe, Russia and possibly a few other regions will have a longer wait than others before they get the option to officially buy Samsung’s next S Pen-toting flagship.

Very strange if true... Maybe there's way too many unsold S6's in Europe which will be discounted before the note 5 gets here? *shrug*

The report notes that the S Pen will also undergo some design changes, making it look more like a pen. Also, it will be of the same colour as the handset.

Well i cracked my Note 4 screen 2 days ago so ill either get a new screen which is a pain in the arse to fit by the looks of it or get a Note 5 depending on what it actually looks like/contains inside.

Love my note 4 though, best phone I've ever had/used.
