****The Official Note III Thread****

Smart Stabilisation is not video stabilisation, it's low light mode for stills. just oddly named. video stabilisation is a separate option in the video tab.

is that aimed at me? I didn't mention video stabilistaion.

And it's not Optical Image stabilisation like found on the Nexus 5 and LG G2.

I'm pretty sure it's all software based on the Note 3.

Yes I know that, I was referring to the option setting labelled Image Stabilisation, which isn't any kind of stabilisation but instead a low light mode, just not called low light mode.

It's called smart stabilization even in camera mode. Toggle it off then on and the name and description pops up.

£27 a month - 600 minutes, UL texts and 750mb data - free phone.

Reasonable deal?

£648 total cost

Phone cost on amazon is £482.99 so effectively £165.01 for two years of the above allowance

That's pretty good. I'd take that, but I don't do long contracts; much rather buy phones outright.

I don't really understand that method - If the phone contract is a good enough deal, being tied into a 2 year contract makes no difference, as you always nead a tariff.

After X amount of months, you can always sell the phone and then buy a sim free one.

What do you make of that deal mate? Phone is unlocked so can always pay off and jump ship if necessary.

It's a decent enough deal if the allowance is enough for you. I'd want unlimited data personally.

Have you checked for cashback i.e. Quidco?

Yeah £40 cashback on that. My sister gets 25% off Vodafone contracts so I could also look at them!

Hhmmm, seriously thinking of grabbing an N3 - a little bored of my HO.....
What's the community's thoughts on this?
Also need to decide whether to chuck £400~odd down (as I did with the HO) for SIM-free, or look at contract - who supplies sim-free handsets these days? I did see a buymobilephones.net deal for about £33/month for 3's One Plan which seems close to good*, but would want unlocked handset

* logic being 24x £15/month (One Plan sim) + £400-450 = £760-810, TCB of £42 potentially meaning around £720-770?

A mate of mine who I saw yesterday and was checking my phone out last night told me "your battery was on 80% yesterday night and it's on 74% this morning, do you use a spare battery or something why's it around the same level again?", his face when i told him it only dropped that much overnight was priceless.

I'm 99% sure it's via a rooted app/toolbox. No way you can do it without root IMO.

Are you rooted?

I'm rooted yeah, but not sure it does require root, perhaps the korean variants just have this option as standard? If not can you think of any way to do this with root?

Does anyone else get poor reception on their note 3?
I'm with Vodafone 4G and a mate at work is on same (different phone) but he gets 3 to 4 bars of 4G at work,I can't get 4G on my note 3 heck I've only seen 4G on it once and that lasted a few seconds. I can barely get a "g" signal.
Do you think it's faulty?
