****The Official Note III Thread****

I just noticed that the IR blaster is on the bottom of the phone?

It's at the top, on the right.

I am 500% sold on this device. :D

Where are people pre-ordering the sim-free version from? :o

At first I thought the back leather-imitation looked a bit naff but after looking at reviews, videos and photos of it - it looks very nice. I think the black looks better than the white? The white would get grimy and turn brown I assume...

Get black because

a) White phones look awful. Period.
b) With a SAMOLED screen it's great having an all black front facia where you (almost) can't tell where the screen begins.

I used to love that effect on my Note 1, Notes are great phones but I think I'll keep my s4 this time and buy a 10 inch tab.

most likely. il be getting the black version. i like the leather back, gives the phone more grip in your hand compared to the slippery plastic of the note 2.

Since it's got a USB3 port I wonder if they have increased the charging current to charge even faster? USB3 can fully power/charge a device unlike USB2 which charges at a slow current,

Just having a little snigger to myself, I remember when all this HD telly stuff started coming out years back 720/1080, I remember at the time the general opinion was that 720 was fine on anything upto 37/42" over that go for 1080.

And now 1080 is deemed necessary on a 5-6" mobile!! over the old 720 note 2 :D

It's all about the viewing distance.

I'm going to wait until it's about the £400 mark and sell my Note2 to upgrade, probably won't happen until after Xmas but the Note 2 is good enough to wait.

The only thing i don't like about the current gen phones is that despite the higher res. Apps like Pulse newsfeed, BBC and most internet browsers are not taking advantage of the res and the screen still feels crowded. I know you can fix this with 3rd party mods but it really should be built into Android to let you choose what DPI you want
