I would agree with the ~22%
According to the top graph it looks like gaming perf. of Titan X is sitting at around 3.6 and the 1080 is around 4.4
And I would say the VR graph has the Titan X at ~3.8 and the 1080 at 7. That would represent a ~84% increase.
Yea, people are really having some short-sighted knee jerk reactions about used 980Ti prices. I'd say £300 will probably be a fairly common 'baseline' price for them. Bit less on particularly good deals. That isn't exactly how the 2nd hand market works. You can't just see a newer product with similar performance levels and then knock a percentage off that price for sake of being 2nd hand. There are many people who already own 980Ti's and would like another 1 to SLI with, but have been put off by the high price. The increase in availability of new Ti's (at reduced prices due to being EOL) and people selling theres will mean there is still a fairly decent market for used 980Ti's. They wont be going for £150 any time soon! I would say £250-£300 will be the used price over the next 6 or so months.
There is no link that I've heard anything about and I usually stay pretty in-the-know with the VR stuff.Link?
that "22%" could be hugely more or hugely less depending on clockspeeds tho
only ppl to know this are those lucky enough to have a 1080 right now
the news zotac's card..
Engine Clock Base: 1607 MHz
Boost: 1733 MHz
thats a way off 2000+ claimed by nvidia
we have no idea what clockspeeds them graphs are based on or if they represent reality at all lol

I assume the slides showed the 1080 favourably, given it is marketing and trying to sell it. I cannot see them underselling the potential performance increase, put it that way.
TBH, I would make a case for banning those clowns from MM.
Don't see why someone would be banned for putting in a legitimate offer in. .
How would you do that? Don't see why someone would be banned for putting in a legitimate offer in. I would understand if they were offering something silly like £50 or something like that.
Only people calling for such harsh treatment seem to be hurt 980Ti owners. End of the the day if someone values the card for more, they will put in a higher bid.
the 980 series are now paperweights, expect them to fetch a similar price to a paperweight in about two months time.
you still have time to unload your card to some numpty on fleabay, don't try and flog it on the MM.

When someone puts an asking price of £380 and the first offer asks if £200 is ok - you don't consider that a silly offer?
Yes, perhaps my banning comment wasn't actually justified - but having sold quite a bit of reasonably high-end gear on the MM, it boils my **** when folk try and offer ridiculous amounts. The 1 that really gets me is "cheeky offer of...". If you know it is cheeky, then don't even bother!
Street haggling seems like a really annoying practice to take part in on a select member-based thread for community buying/selling. Put in a reasonable offer or just dont bother.Well that's how you get things cheaper in life. It's like buying a car, the buyer starts low and the seller starts high. As a buyer if serious you can start of no where near the price knowing you will be paying much higher than you start off. It's not a sellers market atm and the buyers have every right to show they are not willing to pay anywhere near the price the seller wants.

For people selling the cards i would hold tight to see how the pricing on the 1070 turns out and its real world performance. It may just swing things back in there direction. It's a gamble but i don't think they have much to lose now.

I also think you're being a bit naive that that they were haggling and not just taking the ****.
Relying on the ignorance of a seller and the extent of his need to sell is quite different to market value of a product. There will always be people who have no idea what their stuff is worth, or do but just want rid asap. I've seen plenty of stuff sell on MM for wayyyy less than it's worth, but that doesn't mean the next guy who comes along has to sell his/her items at the same barrel bottom price, nor should a buyer expect them to.

On the other hand, ive had multiple offers around the 350-365 mark, so clearly the 200 offers were completely pointless

So while I'm sure Nvidia picked a great OC'er for their demonstration, it also seems reasonable that once we get proper 3rd party, non-blower coolers and crank up over the normally conservative 'stock' clock, that the sort of gains they've shown will be pretty realistic, if not easily beatable.
