** The Official Nvidia GeForce 'Pascal' Thread - for general gossip and discussions **

Thats doesnt sound right as zotac have the reference pic up on their website without the founders tag. And on the nvidia website there's two seperate sections for the 1080 and 1080 founders that also has the same pics on.

That is a pretty bad sign IMO. What he should have done is put up a benchmark with a 390X, FuryX, 980Ti and Polaris 10/11, shown respective power draw and put a price up. Job done, AMD fans go crazy, shuts down Nvidia's limelight and immediately pauses at least some people preordering the 1080.

Instead the runours and leaked benchmarks are liekly true. Big Polaris gets close to 390X performance with much less power only a small cheap eaisly fabbed chip. That is all the makings of a great GPU for the low and mid-end which Nvidia don't have an answer for yet (Gp106 rumored for maybe September). If priced properly below the 1070 it will sell well. AMD are just left with no response to bigger faster Pasal cards.

I hope I'm wrong about AMD but I just don't see it. The leaked specs and chip size, power consumption, benchmarks and absolutely no rumour of a 300-400mm chip from AMD.

Yeah and say all the journalists and tech guys, sorry you have to keep NDA we don't f*ck you.
Why don't nvidia released any benches when AMD showed Polaris months ahead of them? Same reason.

AMD are free to release company information at anytime. NDA's only apply to 3rd partiws, they exist to protect AMD, not the 3rd party.

Nvidia didn't say anyth u ng at CES because AMD didn't release any actual useful information and were 6 months away from launching.

I don't believe there is a "reference" card - just a founders one

think the recent Nvida launches - the "reference" card - with the vapor chamber cooling etc -were quite rare and were at a premium price

there were some cards that "looked similar" but without the vapor chamber etc and at a cheaper price

in past the "reference" card used to be the sort of base card

these days the "reference" now founders card is a premium "ideal" product - with a pretty expensive cooler etc. Also has the plus that reviews show a product with nice cool temps etc :)

Just got an email from Palit,

"Hi Robert,

Thanks to be the big fan of Palit. We will release a new series of GTX1080, better than JetStream, more features on this new series. It will be released very soon.

Palit."

Have loved my 980Ti Super Jetstream, practically silent and nice overclocks, really hope Palit will have a simliar card ready for release day.

So the only edition available at launch is Nvidia's founders edition at $700, so conversion plus vat means it's probably going to be sold between £550 and £600

Not bad for a mid range part :-)

I had Palit's 980 and 980 Ti, and they really were superb. Quietest cards I've ever owned by a distance. Definetly high on my list to consider for Pascal along with EVGA.

A lot of non tech channels popping on on youtube with sponsered nvidia pascal gpus.. i dont recall them doing that for Maxwell. Sure has made it harder to sell maxwell 2nd hand :)

reference card to me means reference pcb, don't care for the cooler as the nvidia one is pretty good.

we need some gigabyte custom board love with binned chips, roll on Christmas.
