As it does not show the speeds though you have no idea, for example if that is a stock 1080 then it is good, if it is a 1080 at 2.1Ghz then it is not very good.

None of the benchmarks of AOS show anything except the GPU name, so it is hard to know if that is good or not.

The 1080 will clearly beat a 980ti, no doubt about that, but the question is by how much and also what will be available on release and how much also

Other issue with that benchmark is that its not the same version of the software.

The cpu fps is showing a 7% gain in speed even though all settings are the same.

Who is to say that 7% of gpu framerate gains weren't from the software version so the 1080 might only be 5% quicker than a Fury>
 
If the 1080 comes in at over £500 do we think its likely that the Ti will be above £700 ?
surely they wouldn't use the Ti as next years lineup ?

what is going to be for the mainstream consumer next year ?

See I would have thought it would be the numpties and people off their meds paying a lot more than £200 for the 980Ti, unless they have one already and going SLI.

I think it is safe to say the 1070 will perform very similar to a 980Ti and come in at £300 or so. Now the 1070 will be definitely better than the 980Ti in many ways. It will have 2GB more vram, run cooler and quieter using less electric and benefit from future driver improvements where the 980Ti going forward likely won't.

Knowing all this, will people be buying the brand new card, or pay the same amount on a second hand 980Ti?

Therefore only the people who do not know what's what will pay £250 upwards for the second hand card, or the ones who have already got a 980Ti and going sli.
 
I am not so confident in this gtx1070 being a great match for the gtx980ti. It's not using gddr5x and it's on a 256bit memory bus. It's likely to look a lot like a gtx980 on steroids (High Clocks). Unleash the gtx980ti with some high clocks and i don't see the 1070 keeping up. If we look at the table in this article and change the clocks on the gtx980 to what the gtx1080 has it would be a match for the gtx980ti at stock.

I rarely sell on the MM here because prices people offer are much lower than you can typically get elsewhere, but the MM is a pretty limited target audience

I list items up, but the best cash on collection offers come in from other sites

You do of course understand how utterly ridiculous this statement is because one, Nvidia did speak about Pascal at CES, two, Nvidia showed a 'GP100' at CES 2015, and they've talked about Pascal products like the Drive PX2 multiple times.

Aside from all that, you pretend Nvidia never said the word Pascal till a couple of days ago and forget about the previous times they talked about it at the next release when you talk about now Nvidia are utterly silent right up till launch.
