** The Official Nvidia GeForce 'Pascal' Thread - for general gossip and discussions **

GTX 1080 and Polaris 10/11 Ashes of Singularity DirectX 12 Async Compute benchmarks leaked!!!

http://videocardz.com/59725/nvidia-gtx-1080-polaris-10-11-directx12-benchmarks

Look like Nvidia will take DirectX 12 and Async Compute performance crown for years to come as AMD cant compete GTX 1080 performance with Polaris 10 as Polaris 10 is just around 50% of Fury performance in 4K Crazy settings. I would really surprised if Nvidia will gain massive marketshare.

Poor AMD!

I've gone through them earlier today, now I woke up properly and read through them again. First of all, why it's called 5K if pixel amount is just a tad over 7x 1080p? I'll call it 7K in this post :D

Right, first thing comes to mind: Crazy 7K TX SLI 29 fps vs Pol10 17 fps, pretty impressive I'd say, it doesn't say if Pol10 is in Xfire either.

Second: Crazy 4K TX no-sli 39 fps, Pol10 20 fps. This give me an idea that 7K TX might not have been SLI'd, OR Titan X SLI in AotS sucks.

Third: The two nVidia devices at Crazy 4k with 40 and 39 fps are GTX 1080 most likely, the 26fps one comes out as GTX 1070. Pol10 is behind it with 20 fps.

Fourth: the fps figures double at Standard 1080p, which is normal probably, I don't know.

All of this makes me think that Pol10 is a low-wattage but huge bandwith gpu with enough bus width to handle 4K and 7K (admit it, 40% less than TX SLI at 7K ain't bad) but somehow not enough grunt lol.
Or someone's just taking a mickey and uses Photoshop a lot.

I have been following these threads today and yesterday, some people are just repeating over and over and over again that the 980ti will go down massively.... It might do or it might not, depending on the 1070, end of arguement.... extremely tedious.

Wasn't everyone talking a few months ago that only Ti in 2017 or the next gen will fully support asynch, because nVidia was too ignorant and too late to develop it in time for their new cards. Therefore I think 1070 and 1080 can possibly fall flat with every single DirectX12 game. Let's just wait until a week or two and we will see how it goes.

No I am not either way, because I don't know and neither do you, my educated guess is that the 1070 will be slower than the 980ti. But I could be wrong, there is literally nothing more to be said than that, so why keep repeating it... I am following these threads to find out info about the new cards etc. you are just repeating the same thing literally 10 or 20 times and littering the thread, just be quiet you have said it multiple times now.

Around £250/£260 after eBay and Paypal fees.

I reckon they'll be going for £250ish once the 1080/1070 is out (Providing they bench as expected). Mean around £210 cleared after fees.

Or get brand new 780ti on eBay for £549.99 lol :D One just came up for sale.

Going on specs the reduced core count on the 970 indicates a 15% reduction in performance compared to the 1080. Nvidia have indicated the 1080 is a good 20-30% faster than the TX. I predict the 1070 to be approximately 10% faster than the 980ti.

Still does not make a £200 offer on a second hand 980Ti with the information available to us today unreasonable ;)
Yea, it's still pretty unreasonable man. Nobody is going to sell their 980Ti for that cheap. And unless they absolutely cannot offload them for more, then the market will have deemed it 'unreasonably low', pretty much by definition.

And I agree with others that this is a *super* tired discussion at this point. Nothing new is being said anymore.

Lol, no it's not unreasonable for them, it's just unrealistic and they fail to realise people will only hang on to their cards and wait for 1080Ti if they're gonna lose £300 anyway lol

Yeh if you look at it in the most basic way humanly possible then you will come to that conclusion. If you also look at the memory and what resolutions are used, it could be very different. The Tflops numbers (only numbers released for 1070) say that the 1080 is 9tflops and the 1070 is 6.5tflops, that is a lot more than 15%... that is a 38% difference, it also has a 256 bit memory bus and 250gb/s memory bandwidth.

People getting personal over graphics cards? Jeez you people should spend that £500 on getting out more!

I am not bothered its just extremely tedious hearing it for the literally 100+th time, when I am looking for news about the 1080. People are repeating pages and pages saying the same thing, and there is NO ANSWER to the question until the 1070 reviews come out.

Also do you seriously think they are going to release the 1080 at 699 and then the 1070 at 450 which is only 15% slower? No they definately would not do that, nobody would want a 1080.

So, it is okay when 980Ti owners get upset and emotional and say things like the "1070 will be slower than a 980Ti" or "it is unreasonable" and it's "worth more"?

Say and others find this unreasonable, shall we all throw a hissy fit? Lol

Well that is just like, your opinion man.

I do agree however it is getting a bit tired. But to be fair, not my fault people quote and reply my posts.

I know right?

All I have done is attempted to enlighten those who seem to be confused as to why there is a sudden price drop. I feel I have done this as factually as possible with available information at preset time.

Instead of showing me where I have gone wrong and correcting me, people are getting personal and upset over a graphics card. Lol.

I think this thread either needs renaming again, or cleaning up or even closing.

It is a thread about Pascal, not about how much can I get for a 980ti. :(

Yes I agree.

But I am not even going to say anything more because I have better things to do than argue with "GFX KID"
