** The Official Nvidia GeForce 'Pascal' Thread - for general gossip and discussions **

during the livestream, its on youtube, or here is a still image from the same

don't forget, nvidia multiprojection for VR doesn't just include rendering sections at lower resolution it also renders both eyes concurrently so there is an efficiency saving there as well, hence why they are able to hit 50% increase in FPS for maybe only a 30% saving on resoultion, so the render target becomes maybe 130% instead of 170%
Ah ok, I dug into more and found the full video. So I'm completely wrong that this is just 'multiresolution shading' renamed. THAT truly was just a flat reduction in resolution on the outside edges of the view.

This, on the other hand, seems like a clever way to use a smaller supersample in general by correcting the projection beforehand. Along with using stereo instancing for more help with the performance.

And it *sounds* like this might actually be a hardware-enabled feature for Pascal and not just a software implementation. But I'm not sure. I know stereo instancing could be done before, but maybe not all together at the same time with the projection correction with minimal performance overhead/rendering latency.

So my bad, I've been arguing, thinking we're talking about something fairly different!

Also, I dont think many(or any) games/apps use a 170% supersample. I think 140% is kind of 'the standard'.

GTX 1080 and Polaris 10/11 Ashes of Singularity DirectX 12 Async Compute benchmarks leaked!!!

Look like Nvidia will take DirectX 12 and Async Compute performance crown for years to come as AMD cant compete GTX 1080 performance with Polaris 10 as Polaris 10 is just around 50% of Fury performance in 4K Crazy settings. I would really surprised if Nvidia will gain massive marketshare.

Poor AMD!

On Ebay 980Ti are just over £300. Not many are selling for over £400 any more. I've been watching gpu sales and they are dropping little by little since 1080 announcement.

Around £250/£260 after eBay and Paypal fees.

I reckon they'll be going for £250ish once the 1080/1070 is out (Providing they bench as expected). Mean around £210 cleared after fees.

2160x1200 is 2.6megapixels
the render target for CV1 is something like 2800x1500 or thereabouts, the DK2 also had a render target of 1.66 times the physical (2364x1461 on a 1920x1080 display)

I saw a few around there. Most were just above £300. Your right though. After 1000 series release they'll drop like cannon balls

Exactly. And this is already happening now.

People always mention the sale price when discussing how much they sold it for on there and conveniently leave out what they actually sold it for after all fees. Lol.

Say you sell for £320 on there. You are left with approximately £275 after fees, even less if you offered free postage.

If 1070 does indeed match or beat 980Ti as suggested by nvidia and is £315, only the people looking to go sli will pay £250 or more for a second hand 980Ti, or the uninformed.

No they are not, most are well over that and with bids, what are talking about?

Why people are so desperate to devalue the Ti's I don't now, people almost seem to be relishing in it.

Seems like the same type of people that laugh at a someone who has crashed their super car.

I would seriously consider a used 980Ti at £250 over a £315 1070.

No one is here is trying to do that, it is nvidia who is doing it.

I will give you one thing though, you are right, I had a look now and they are selling a little under £400 not a little over £300 from what I can see. I assumed Simon was accurate in his claim, my mistake.

But it is early days now, they will drop more once 1070 is out.

I would seriously consider a used 980Ti at £250 over a £315 1070.

There you go then, if more people are happy to buy a second hand inferior card to save £65, then maybe the 980Ti price will never hit the £200 point after all.

Still does not make a £200 offer on a second hand 980Ti with the information available to us today unreasonable ;)

Yes this has been constantly going on all day and yesterday now, its getting a bit weird.... Why not just shut up about the 980ti resale and wait for the reviews to come out?! Seriously WHY are people repeating the same thing literally 10's of times all day???

I am sure you are a kid... just be quiet about it now eh? No need to keep typing out multiple paragraphs about a subject that cannot be true or false until you see the reviews of the 1070????
