** The Official Nvidia GeForce 'Pascal' Thread - for general gossip and discussions **

Not really. It's like me asking "what's 1111 + 1001 in binary?" then you 2 going on a rant about how people don't think in binary, instead of actually answering.

I think people would just like you to attempt a discussion without using childish name calling and ridiculous straw men.

No, it is an insightful and accurate discussion, unlike your immature gibberish and factually incorrect nonsense.

Calm down Howling or you will be getting a vaction.

AMD paid Oxide to develop an engine that exploited mantle. when Mantle failed and DX12 came long AMD used Oxide as a marketing piece to extol the virtues of Async compute.

Now perhaps you can answer question. you said in reference to gamesworks

I'll concede, there are some good *ideas* in it - though for the most part they've either been extraordinarily poorly implemented or there's an issue with them at the core.
Care you elaborate on why you think the Gamesworks features are poorly implemented when game developers near universally believe the opposite?

I think the problem here is more with the message being delivered, rather than the manner it is being delivered in. A lot of people speak this way on this forum, it just friendly banter etc it seems.

Yesterday I was being attacked and all I was doing was posting information that was factually correct, and did so in a respectful manner. But it did not sit well with some and I was attacked and called a kid, and stuff about my balls dropping etc. No forum member seemed to have a problem with those guys behaving like that. The mod did not even delete the message about balls dropping. Which that whole post has nothing to do with pascal.

To be fair in the end they dragged me down to their level of communication, which was my fault for letting it happen. But we live and learn I suppose :)

Let's get back on topic now :D

Baseless conjecture. The fact that AotS uses Async (which is a feature of DX12, not an AMD technology) does not equate to a pro-AMD bias.

Assassins Creed Unity -- I can't recall how many of the GW effects are used, but I recall the smoke having a rather large performance impact while being visually identical to GW off.

Arkham Knight -- Are they still refunding it for how bad it was?

Witcher 3 -- The hairworks that completely decimated AMD cards and gave a large hit to nVidia cards until options to lower tessellation were added.

Fallout 4 -- Arguably the only one I can think of that wasn't gimped by GW - and thankfully 100% optional.

Off the top of my head I can't recall what other games have used it, or what performance impact it had. If you could then back up your claim of
Game developers near universally believe the opposite?
and provide a valid reason for thinking AotS is AMD biased.

I dont agree with some of the posts you received, but dont act like some innocent party here! lol Your 'facts' were anything but in most cases and your reasoning was about as tight as a toddler trying to tie a knot.

This discussion stuff is really hard for you isn't it? Get called for your nonsense and your response is to act like a condescending dick.

Hehe :)

Not at all. I admited that I was wrong to stoop to their level. But I do disagree about my facts being wrong, they are yet to be disproven. As for my reasoning, you would obviously say that, as you made it clear before you disagreed with it. But is was not the reasoning you was in disagreement with in my opinion, it was the message. Off the top of my head at least 3-4 people have said the exact same thing I said.

Anyway, we will have to agree to disagree on this one ;)

Playing Just Cause 3, GTA V and Dark Souls 3 at 4K maxed on 980 Ti get around 30 fps but playing these games on GTX 1080 at same settings will get very smooth 60 fps plus.

Look like GTX 1080 will blow everything away we cant imagined but double 980 Ti performance in games!!!

The benefit of this feature is already being seen in real games. Oxide Games and Stardock have collaborated with AMD for Ashes of the Singularity™, an upcoming strategy game that already utilizes all 8 cores of an AMD FX-8370 processor to deliver performance, image quality and resolutions that—in the words of the developer’s CEO Brad Wardell—are “not even a possibility” under DirectX® 11.

Unfortunately, it almost definitely won't be 2x better than the 980ti. If it was, you can sure as hell bet nVidia would be saying that. The closest they said was 2x VR performance :P
The numbers I've seen so far seem to put it at about 25% faster than the Ti (at stock) - though we don't know how OC'able it is, if it's a beast it could end up 50% quicker :o

Collaboration =/= performance bias. AMD and nVidia collaborate with virtually every game studio for every game, but not every game is biased.

Lol fake. Now it's double the speed of a 980ti. Nvidia don't even claim this. Some people will swallow anything :D:D:D.
