** The Official Nvidia GeForce 'Pascal' Thread - for general gossip and discussions **

It is pretty empty, and apparently some empty solder pads. Possible that there will be a a faster higher powered version to come with 2x8pin and more advanced power circuitry.

If you look at the PCB of 980 and 980ti, even the titan x you will see that the 8 solder points for another 8 pin connector are on all of them in that position. it is more likely just an alternate power delivery point to the one on the side.

Any bets on prices ?

A straight conversion put's the 1080 founders edition at £488 so I reckon maybe £550, I hope :p

I agree. I can't see them at £600. I'm think they may shed a little cost down to entice people at £550.

All i hope for is a cheaper custom EVGA SC for release. Dont want the new cooler as will be using waterblocks.

Still depends on benchmarks aswell. I'm not 100% sold yet.

Yup, it's confirmed the 1080 is limited to only 2 way SLI

http://www.overclock3d.net/articles...rt_any_higher_than_2_way_sli_configurations/1

We can confirm that 1080 cards only support up to 2-way SLI and anything above this will not work, no matter the SLI bridge.
Please however keep in mind that if you do use the new SLI bridge along with two 1080 cards, then it gives more performance than 2-way SLI did in the past on previous series.

It seems that Nvidia may be dropping support for anything greater than two-way SLI simply because it may not be worth their investment in creating SLI profiles and drivers for such an unused configuration.

I can see the reasoning behind it to be honest, The amount of people that actually use more than 2 x GPU's in a single rig are in the extreme minority.

I agree, although it is a shame really. As some folks really do like pushing their systems to get the utmost best they possibly can.

I wonder when NVIDIA are eventually going to move to doing everything via the PCIe lanes like AMD.

Can any Overclockers staff give us a ballpark figure for the 1070/1080 ?

I need 2 weeks notice start prepping how to break the news to the wife that X amont has gone from the savings :P

On a serious note with a bit of wheelin n dealing i sold my 980 ti for £515 on gumtree 3 weeks ago so i have they money. Stupid me forgot my 4k Gsync pannel only uses displayport and not HDMI so im left without a card until 10xx arrives.

If the price is right , maybe i'll get 2 1070's and sli.

Nice price on the 980 Ti, I managed to sell mine for £450 :)

This is pretty much what I'm hoping for. It's not that I hugely want to upgrade, but with the X's dropping in price if I can sell both of them off (already have sold one actually) for the price near to what the 1080 then I will get one.

Expect the worst, hope for the best.

I'd expect £600 (£650 max) for the initial batch of the 1080 cards, and £400ish for the 1070s
