Why would it have asus tax if it is not asus?

Eugh well I refuse to go that high for the 1080, so I will be stuck on 5870 even longer arghhh starting to regret ebaying my 980ti early if that is the case.

Last year the 980 Ti sold for $649 (MSRP) in USA and i bought mine 1 week after launch as a pre-order due to lack of stock for £550 here at OCUK.

Based on this example only i estimate the following;

1080 Founders $699 = £620
1080 MSRP $599 = £520
1070 Founders $449 = £350
1070 MSRP $379 = £280

I think pre-orders will be available once the NDA is lifted tomorrow.

Yes this sounds about right but would not surprise me if its more like ..

1080 Founders $699 = £649.99
1080 MSRP $599 = £549.99

I expect prices to be higher here compared to that, uk tax along with low availability.
 
Don't know how you've worked that out.

The jump from 1440 to 4k is way bigger than 1080 to 1440.

3440x1440 ultrawide is a good compromise though with the 100hz displays.

either way its still way too expensive compared to price's of there top cards of say 8 to 10 years ago even with inflation added.Each year it as been creeping up to ridiculous prices.

Yes i have a 60hz 4k Gsync monitor, theres not much difference between 1080/1440p imo.

The volume of pixels from 1440p - 2160p is greater than 1080p - 1440p

1080p - 2.1 MP
1440p - 3.7 MP
3440 - 4.9 MP
4k - 8.3 MP

4k is over double 1440p and not far off double 3440!

4k is 4x 1080p, 1440p is less than 2x 1080p.
