Gibbo knows! :p

Fast sync? Wonder if it's just for VR or if it works on any monitor too.
I would imagine that if latency reduction is its only goal, then VR would really be the only useful case for it. Depends on how it works, though. Pretty sure if they found a better way to do v-sync in general, they'd be a bit noisier about it.

buying nvidia pascal is probably out of the question for most people. they have such a monopoly over the market, their cards are expensive as a space rocket. they are costly and aimed for developers and professional industry who can buy truck load of them without a hint and tech junkies. i cannot justify prices of £1000 for their video cards. there is not pc game out there that a mid range card won't handle. amd is definitely doing the right thing by releasing affordable cards this year and aimed at gamers clearly. for the first time in years thinking about upgrading.

100% agreed ;)

Supply and demand aka early adopter tax included it wouldn't surprise me if they're close to that for the first month or so.

Come on now this is a $599-$699 card, that should work out about 495-578, please retailers do not try and price gouge people even MORE than they already are just with the MSRP in the first place!!!

Depends on how many they have. Furyx was price gouged by around £150 iirc but that was only around 12 units of stock.

I will be annoyed if they are anywhere near that number, I already ebayed my 980ti and am stuck on a 5870 which sucks and white screen of death about 3 times a day. Just give us the 1080 at reasonable non rip off amounts please.

Couple things stood out:

Also it has HDMI 2.0b too, as well as the DP1.4.

HDMI 2.0 comes in two flavours, A and B, A deals with 10bit/higher bandwidth YUV 4:2:2 signals at max refresh rates supported at 4k. B has less bandwidth, and can only send a YUV 4:2:0 signal at the max rated refresh rate. I think practical implications aren't really there, though it might be important for HDR screens in the future I can't see it being an issue in the next year or two.

£650 with Asus tax I reckon easily :D

If supply is constrained as expected then they'll all be that price :p

Lube up brother, nVidia don't bring any....;)

Hmm, so basically I'm looking at a grand to upgrade from 1080p to 4K gaming (including monitor). I wonder if it's worth it...

If you are sensitive to resolutions in games , 4k is visually beautiful and often doesn't require any AA, thats how people game on a 980 ti (no AA) for 40-60fps.

Hopefully with a OC'd 1080 Ti 2 x MSAA will be possible for 60 FPS.

I personally cannot game on a 1080p/1440p monitor anymore it needs to be 4k.
