+ VR performance improvements ?

any DX12 improvements

etc etc those on top of potentially a base % faster than 980 Ti

sounds very much like a worthwhile upgrade

Since reviewers seem to be teasing the 1080 is more than 30% faster than a 980 Ti, I think this makes the 1070 even more interesting.

The biggest difference between the top card and its cutdown counterpart in recent years has been 15-20%, and that was the GTX 780 vs 770, where you'd expect a larger difference since the 780 was actually the much larger die.

Generally the difference between the same dies has been 10-15% at most.

If the 1070 ends up being 15-20% faster than a 980 Ti, that'll really be something.

so it's 1:40am and i thought i'd be knee deep in youtube and website reviews of the 1080 inbetween the newborns feeds (I told my wife 'you get an early night and i'll look after the twins) DAMN YOU NVIDIA TO HELL :D

Pascal has added hardware for single pass multi view rendering. Typically the left eye would be rendered sperately to the right eye, doing these simuAltnously can lead to lots of optimization between shared resources etc.

So less than 13hrs and we'll have the benchmarks. Not long to go now and we can then separate the rumours from the facts.

Well just finished a 12 hour OT night shift and will be nice to get up in time to see the official bench and thoughts on the 1080 :)

It's just a matter of waiting now but 2pm is the typical time for an NDA lift are we expecting preorders to go live the same time as reviews or a bit later? I'm in work till 12 so better not be before then

It's the price that has me anxious, Currently got £550 set aside for a 1080 and I'm currently running on a 770 so hopefully I have enough, Paid a but ton of bills recently so if it's anymore I shall have to wait until around July time.

It actually makes more sense to wait, as the AIB's will have some nice custom cooled cards and probably a bit more for overclocking and cheaper. Sadly I am in the minority of being impatient and expecting £650 price tags :(

Wouldn't expect any reviews released before 2pm.

I think a 2.5ghz 1080 will blast away a Ti personally. Recent 3D mark scores have put a 2.1ghz 1080 as fast as 980Ti SLI. If they were true or not... Hopefully will find out today :).

You're letting your own hype train run away. Nowhere did 2.5GHz OC ever become an actual number confirmed as reachable on air. Only a vague unconfirmed rumour that a 2.4GHz AIB version would be released. IMHO it just doesn't seem realistic that the boost clocks are reported as ~1800 but that an extra 700 is possible as an OC.

Honestly, expect ~2.2GHz-2.3GHz on air and anything else is a bonus. Expect 2.5GHz and fail to get there and you will be setting yourself up for a disappointment.

I'm hoping more than anything :) 2.1ghz on a reference does leave a bit more for vendor cards. I'm not expecting 2.5ghz to be honest. But we will see soon hopefully.
