** The Official Nvidia GeForce 'Pascal' Thread - for general gossip and discussions **

That is still pretty good over the on paper boost clock and out the box actual boost though even if a bit over hyped so not quite in the same context as overclockers dream and looks like 3rd party cooling will give it some potential.

Its was running at between 0 and 10% overclocked boost, same as usual with this, tested on an open bench for a few minutes, even by TPU's own admission it was just a quick test.

its one of those cards that needs AIB coolers.

Its certainly a very long way from 'Founders cards' being the 2.5Ghz cherry picked cards, which is what a lot of people said.

Its just a name tax, like Titan only at least that came with more memory.

One cannot say what AMD did was a shambles and this isn't.

i'll wait to see what the AIB cards will do, but i have a feeling these are already somewhat overclocked and cooling isn't going to help them much.
It needs to do 2.5ghz to be worth it and i doubt it will do anything like that.

How practical would it be to have the card running at 100% fan? Id have thrown it out the window inside of 5 minutes of that.

whilst i 100% agree with you, 99% of people wont buy founders version. But i defo would not be happy with Founders after finding that out. it seems Nvidia Fan profile sucks bad

Which is completely beside the point. Nothing in the presentation was untrue.

How can so many people expect a company to give a balanced representation of their own product? Are you really that disillusioned?

Doesn't matter. They still didn't lie did they.

Well lets just say they weren't exactly forthcoming with the facts of how they achieved the overclock. Showing temps of 67c as if the cards taking it in its stride while in the background theres a tornado blowing, definitely what everyone wants on their desk.

If this was amd doing something similar the outcry would be deafening. But as usual the green brigade make the excuses for them.

Excuses for what?

They said they can be overclocked to 2.1Ghz - they can.

They said it would be around 980 sli performance or 1.7x a 980's performance in gaming - it is.
