That is still pretty good over the on paper boost clock and out the box actual boost though even if a bit over hyped so not quite in the same context as overclockers dream and looks like 3rd party cooling will give it some potential.
Its was running at between 0 and 10% overclocked boost, same as usual with this, tested on an open bench for a few minutes, even by TPU's own admission it was just a quick test.
its one of those cards that needs AIB coolers.
Its certainly a very long way from 'Founders cards' being the 2.5Ghz cherry picked cards, which is what a lot of people said.
Its just a name tax, like Titan only at least that came with more memory.
One cannot say what AMD did was a shambles and this isn't.
i'll wait to see what the AIB cards will do, but i have a feeling these are already somewhat overclocked and cooling isn't going to help them much.
It needs to do 2.5ghz to be worth it and i doubt it will do anything like that.
