** The Official Nvidia GeForce 'Pascal' Thread - for general gossip and discussions **

All so lets not forget that with the die size being smaller then surly there is more per silicon wafer so cheaper to produce yes i understand there is R&D costs to get smaller but still to go smaller is cheaper surly ...

/Awaits someone to say but its their first 16nm gpu.

:o

It will be interesting to see if £620 is the actual price or not, from the thread yesterday i think there was one site quoting this as a price and nobody else. There was also mention from hardocp that other aib cards will be available on launch day because people were ****ed at the early adopter tax. Though I'm sure that won't have much of an impact on the uk price, any reference card is a "founder edition" so they can ratchet the price up, then add the usual lines of:

"supply and demand"
"but we have stock"
"pound vs the dollar"
"the chinese guy had these loaded on his rickshaw, he crashed and we're increasing the price to pay for his medical bills"
"we feel like pumping your wallets as we know you like it because you buy them"

etc etc Same old **** every launch.

the rickshaw big made me LOL

:D

Manufacturing costs go down and prices go up. It's the Nvidia way :D

No, the regular msrp is only 50 dollars more than the 980. I have no doubt that we will see basic custom blower style cards at around the £500 mark.

Our exchange rate just sucks at the moment and that isnt nvidia's fault to be fair.

The founders edition is stupid, yes. Just dont buy it.

I'm talking pounds, and what was and what will be available at launch.

Anyway, I'm an nvidia fan and very happy with my 980tis and gsync monitor. But with this release, for some reason with the blatant price creep and the founders edition (milkers edition more like), it's leaving a dirty taste in my mouth.

All this talk will mean nothing. Nvidia will make record sales with the cards priced at £620+

Nothing is going to change at all and prices are going to increase with every release.

I game at 3440x1440, and i been on a 970 for a year! was going to grab a 1070 but now the 980ti starting to make more sense...

My cut off point is £500 for a 1080. ok £520 max! :D

.......unless AMD come up with something to properly challenge. We can only hope I guess

price

Just been reading the last couple of pages, and I have to agree that the FE seems like quite a step up in price from the last gen. Sorry if I missed it, but do we know anything about partners cards and their pricing - that could make the difference.

Therein lies the problem, amd could come out with something that smokes the nvidia offering and still sell far less. Its just the way things are in the gfx market.

100 dollar less suggested price and apparently there might be some on release day. Jen himself has said early June though.

Hm that's interesting. I'd have thought that that would bring them to mid £500s which may be far more acceptable to some people, what with additional performance over the FE.
