Clock for clock performance is irrelevant becuase if the processor is designed with a different IPC and clock speed target.
The only thing that matters is Instructions per second. Whether that is achieved by IPC or clock speed is irrelevant
Would argue that clock for clock becomes more relevant if you want to get a better picture of how well the architecture changes are working which is what im interested in. You have to even the playing feel on all other variables to the best of your abilities otherwise the results are misleading.
