** The Official Nvidia GeForce 'Pascal' Thread - for general gossip and discussions **

Yes i am not sure what they call this kind of sales technique but nvidia are trying it on ...kind of like create a problem give a solution for it ....

Being gob smacked by £630+ then seeing them at £550 is like wow that's a bargain but in reality it should never have even been £550 in the 1st place :(

Yes that is exactly my point, I will still get one for that, if it is a decent card with good cooler. But 620 for the FE no chance.

But yes I actually hope that they are using that tactic, because the alternative is even worse.

I do think we will see decent cards at about 550, If cards are more than the FE then people are not going to get one. Maybe the hybrids and top end cards, but surely there will be some decent cards around 550. Otherwise 95% of people will say screw this and get a 1070.

Do we know when custom partner cards will be announced yet? I'm guessing this is under NDA with the whole FE thing.

This. Then people can moan about the price :p

Ha, I think when Nvidia launch a reference, sorry founders edition. GPU for £650, people can already moan about the price :P

Especially considering this is still baby Pascal. Can you imagine the price of Titan and Ti variants

I think AMD have done themselves a solid launching with midrange GPU's first (Actual midrange not pretend high end priced cards)

Nvidia can price themselves off the market while AMD make sales in the lower down tier. AMD seem to have smartened up a great deal.

Case of wait and see for actual confirmed prices on AMD's offerings when its launched

Maybe nvidia released the FE so when people see the vendor cards at £550 they'll think they got a bargain.

Well I just hope there are some decent cards between the $599 and FE, as my 980ti is gone this seems to be taking forever as I want to see what is available and how much!!

Looks like the GP102 is coming. Looks like the GP106 is half a GP104 but with a higher relative ROP and bandwidth ratio. Might easily match a GTX970 or be a bit better.

well, 12gb doesnt seem right to me. I was thinking it would be 16gb. When you saying 'look like its coming', any ideas? I thought GP102 wasnt due to xmas time, possibly later?

I can see the Ti with either the same 8gb. 384bit with 12gb. But they would have to as kaap said do a 512bit to manage 16gb, but that would leave the Ti with 8gb. Possibly both Ti and Titan will have 12gb? 24gb seems crazy and will be absolutely crazy money.

I see no sensible commercial reason why they would use a 512bit bus for 1080ti/GP102 when 384bit with higher clocked gddr5x will get the job done.
