Well if that EVGA one is legit, it has 2 Power sockets on it, which means it should be able to draw more power than the FE for OC'ing etc right?.
Looking at that Rig, the guy does not have an SSD as far as i can tell lol, not that it matters much, just found it odd.
Witcher 3, GTAV, Rainbow 6, etc.
I know I could achieve 60fps if I lowered settings.. But I'm aiming for 60fps+ on high/max settings.. So I'll be looking at a 980Ti/1070/1080/Polaris to buy in mid June, depending on performance and prices.
2 x 8 pin power
makes the FE look like a an expensive ugly hooker![]()
Why yellow? That's not going to work in my build! I just want a silver backplate, not black and no colours on. Too much to ask?
Yeh thats what I just said, the card looks pretty nice on the fan side, then just why? does it have that on the backplate?
Until we know the prices for these other cards, then we dont know if their reasoning behind the FE was lies or not.So custom boards already available... I never understood the FE but now I have to say wtf?
I listened to NV's "explanation" for why it exists but it was clearly lies. Can anyone help me out here?
does anyone even see the backplate in a tower build?

???? you always see the backplate unless you have an upside down motherboard

If you want a quick or 'temporary upgrade' form a 970 holding out for a 1080ti, then 1070 is your best bet. I know for sure that a 1080 is the card for 1440p60 gathering by benchmarks of the founder's edition (stays well above 60 in most benchmarks), but a 1070 should be able to get close. Considering many folks do 1440p on their 980ti/TitanX's already too. And it probably won't take as much of a drop in value when the 1080ti releases as the 1080 would. I remember last year waiting to buy a 970, it only really dropped a little when the 300 series released, didn't do much around the launch of the 980ti.
I'm also waiting to upgrade for 1440p, but I'm okay with 1080p60 for now until the better GPUs launch from both parties.
Both of the zotac cards look like they have 2 power connectors, unless one is 2 x 6 pin.
Yep getting very excited to know what these cards can do with extra juicy connectors ...and once the bios mods are about even better ...

Yeh would be nice to get no throttling and quiet fans. Unfortunately on a lot of the 980 cards (looking now on OCUK) they have 2 x 6 pin, so hopefully there are some at the lower end with a 6 pin and 8 pin, I don't think 2 x 6 pin has any benefit over 1 x 8 pin?
