731 € for 6+8pin. It's really a shame that it is so damn ugly.

I'm sure somebody will crack 2GHz out of the box eventually, but those 2.4GHz cards people were dreaming of last week seem unlikely.

To be honest 2.4 was a bit silly out of the box. It isn't like any 980Ti's do 1500mhz+ out of the box (ie spec wise).

Will be interesting to see what people can get out of the custom cooled and dual power connector versions though.

Im so confused about what to do now, the 1070 will be a sidegrade or downgrade from the 980ti, the 1080 is faster but also 570+ for a decent one, then what will happen when the 1080ti comes out? Hard to predict... the 1080ti could be massive MSRP or the 1080ti could be not that much and the 1080 will drop a lot, depends how good AMD vega is. Hmmm what to do what to do.

I was initially impressed that they are less than the FE, but overall the FE has still pushed everything up quite a lot... I will probably still get a 1080 because otherwise ebaying my 980ti and getting another 980ti or a 1070 is just completely pointless and zero performance upgrade, but now I don't know what to do...

I was initially impressed that they are less than the FE, but overall the FE has still pushed everything up quite a lot... for example the 980ti MSRP was $649, with cards available around 500 GBP reference or 530-560 GBP for a decent one.... The 1080 is supposedly $599 MSRP, but a decent card is 570-650 and the reference is 630. I wish they would just make my decision easier by knocking another 50GBP off!!

The 1070 will be a decent card and regardless of the upgrade over a 980ti will hold value well...

I'm not repulsed by ordering one from selling my 980ti

Better to have a current gen card in the rig for re sale than a card of the same performance but crumbling in price...

Plus you get driver support , 2gb ram and free new shiny....with the option to sli ....don't beat yourself up

The 1080 ain't worth the premium IMO...

Does it not seem pointless though? Possible downgrade or sidegrade at best... I don't know I think i will wait and see how much better the 1080 and 1070 custom cards are.... more waiting eughhhh

If you're not playing at 4k, there's potentially a *bit* of gain for a 1070, but maybe not worth the hassle of selling and buying cards to get it. Wouldn't be for me, anyways. Especially if you dont plan on keeping the card for years.

There's no real great 'value' factor for 980ti owners to be doing anything right now except waiting. A bigger die Pascal is going to be a monster, I think that should be super obvious with the gains we've seen already. GP104(314mm^) replacing GM204(398mm^) already shows about a 70% improvement, so there's no good reason to think that we couldn't see something quite similar for GP100 over a GM200. Perhaps even better with HBM2 onboard.

Which 980Ti does 1500mhz+ out the box?
That was his point. None do. So acting like we should be seeing cards with 2Ghz+ out the box for the 1080(which is already a 400Mhz improvement from vanilla) is a bit ridiculous. Those who want those higher clocks will have to look at the more extreme cooler solutions when they arrive(if they want something out-the-box) or do the work themselves using a merely 'decent' card.

29th is rumoured to be the 1070 nda lift.

There is already talk of the power being restricted on the 1070 to cap overclocks...so people buy the 1080 instead.

Of course a bios or AIB cards can circumnavigate this dodgy practice from NV

And we could see 1070 cards a lot closer to 1080 and faster than 980ti by a considerable margin.

Wait and see...;)

Im sure extreme system forums will write a bios for the 1070 it's virtually the same card with the same amount of ram :p
