I totally agree and not only that, many games (first person shooters in particular) FEEL a lot better by upping that refresh to 70+

Input lag for me is often very noticeable at around 55 FPS or lower. Like in the new Doom for example :)

60 FPS is the minimum I can tolerate.
Anything below is immediately noticeable to me, especially when I play singleplayer games with V-Sync.

but still 70 looks night and day better than 55 for example.

Would you really notice the difference between a game running at 55fps and and the same game running at 70fps? Like if I put up a game running at a steady 55fps and then the same game running at a steady 70fps, that you would be able to tell which was which in a blind test?

Not doubting you, well maybe I am little, but would you genuinely be able to tell the difference?

Yes I could certainly get that right 100% of the time, 55 > 70 looks very obvious to me.

Also doing a blind test to guess FPS is maybe not ideal... I guess you mean A/B test..

Do you have a 60hz monitor?

Seems a little slower than a 980 Ti overclock vs overclock. Just under 20k for the graphics score in FireStrike, versus ~21k for an average 980 Ti. Probably worth the trade-off for the extra 2GB memory and 75W less power draw though. Maybe custom cards will close the gap a little too.

Looks like a good 1080p or 1440p card

It will be a downgrade or sidegrade from the 980ti.

That's funny considering that multiple benches show it beating the 980ti. Lets not forget lower power draw, and 8GB of VRAM vs 6gb

I don't get why 980ti owners are getting so salty and insecure

Yes but the stock 980ti would get another 15-20% just from any non reference card, and at 3440x1440 1070 will be worse due to memory bandwidth. Not "salty" at all just trying to be helpful (I am not a 980ti user anymore and am not getting a 1070)

Looked at a few reviews and it looks good, but my comment was someone asking 1070 compared to 980ti at 3440x1440.
