Anyway its late but just so we are clear after all that Leave won and too much salt is bad for your blood pressure. :)

Wait a minute? Leave WON!?

Run that by me again quickly before you go? I don't think I've heard you use that term before.

Take it you not up on the British way of thinking.

Its called urinate us off and we will bite back big time.

Same as Russian bear etc. Do not mess with us period, we have balls and teeth made of titanium. ;)

So what army and money are we going to use to "bite back big time" against the EU if they don't decide to play nicely?

You may think Britain is a bulldog, but right now I wouldn't be surprised if the EU view us as more of a yappy little Jack Russell that's about to get kicked in the face if it doesn't shut up and do as it's told.

The phrase "leave won" would be amusing if it wasn't so tragic, you didn't win, you may have gotten more votes, but ultimately you're going to lose just as much as the rest of us (and I will be absolutely delighted to be proven wrong)

we can take our 350 million a week and pay Putin and use the russian military as mercenaries right ?

I thought we had established that the concept of "won" in this context is moot, if it turns out great then even remain win, if not we all get screwed. No one even knows what the rules are yet, nevermind who's won.

"Closer ties with Russia" is probably someone's brilliant idea of how to proceed so let's not make satire and reality get too close together, it's already uncomfortable.

To quote wiki re: Norway model.

There are a number of countries with strong links with the EU, similar to elements of membership. Following Norway's decision not to join the EU, it remained one of the members of the European Economic Area which also includes Iceland and Liechtenstein (all former members have joined the EU, and Switzerland rejected membership). The EEA links these countries into the EU's market, extending the four freedoms to these states. In return, they pay a membership fee and have to adopt most areas of EU law (which they do not have direct impact in shaping). The democratic repercussions of this have been described as "fax democracy" (waiting for new laws to be faxed in from Brussels rather than being involved in drafting them).[50]

Sounds wonderful...that is like 1 step forward, 2 steps back.

probably manifesto pledge number 1 on Comrade Corbyn's election campaign list

Would be funny now if things work out for the better.

The last 24 hours is hardly a yard stick.

As someone who voted remain, i'd be over the moon. No issues at all admitting I was wrong. Being wrong is currently what I'm hoping for to be honest.

The leave plan was (is) literally

1. Take back control
2. ... ?
3. Profit

With a bit of positive thinking thrown in.
While its flippant its not inaccurate :p

I worry that the Conservatives will waste valuable time posturing who will be the new PM and drag their feet for the next 3 months rather than actually spending that time trying to get some form of manifesto about what the next steps are before we enact Article 50. Some of thats obviously automatic like reassurances from the Chancellor and the BofE about financial stability but theres probably a load of legwork needed to calm/inform the electorate and UK businesses.

It reminds me of when Labour was electing a new leader and kinda forgot it wasnt just the leadership that was in disarray but the whole party, its only when the election happened they realised 'hmm maybe we should have done some homework.'

ps3ud0

Fair enough, I'll assume that the lack of answers from the Leave side, means it bears no relation to the assertions that this was a possible outcome.

Nate

Well, it's an entirely possible outcome because it's about the only way the UK is going to get to retain access to the EU internal market. The EU will see the Norway model as a precedent that works reasonably well for all sides and it's the most likely settlement to be on offer, perhaps with a few concessions to sweeten the deal (but nothing major I doubt).

Whether Leavers will be happy with it is another matter. But perhaps they should have researched the possible divorce settlements a bit more before throwing the wedding ring into the sea.

This article makes an interesting read on the subject, although written shortly before the vote it is still relevant.

Lets stop the personal insults please.

And that includes the silly "triggered" and "wah wah" images.

Sorry... :(

Can we ban being ignorant as well though please? (not referring to you in case you wondered, im not that stupid/brave :D )
