It's a sad day for the global community. Little Britain has taken on a whole new meaning and it looks like no-one globally is interested in going down with the sinking ship.

It's funny because so many leavers are back peddling and wishing they'd voted the other way. Searches for 'What is the EU' have sky rocketed and it all speaks to people not getting informed and understanding the impact of their democratic power.

The rest seem to be doubling down on a brave face and hoping that optimism will keep the ship afloat. Unfortunately for them it's a global economy regardless of whether you have your head in the sand or not.

Glad I left.

So, not acceptable then? I recall this being a cornerstone of the leave campaign.

The Leave campaign were and still are a bit clueless. The Norway model is worse than what we had...

1 - pays more per capita than we did to gain trade in the market
2 - no say in what laws passes in Brussels and has to adopt them
3 - you are still stuck with the Free movement of workers

Sure...on paper you have your sovereignty back, but in reality, Norway are more a puppet to Europe than we were, and that is where we are currently headed.

Leave campaign pushed taking back control i.e not paying the EU and controlling EU migration as their selling points.

Norway model will not deliver. The only way it will deliver is if the leave electorate show as much disregard for facts now as they did going in and don't bother reading up, then the government can sell it as a victory to the unwashed masses by saying look we quit the EU and like Norway we have free trade and then hope no one notices the continued influx of Polish plumbers..................

In other news, that 2nd referendum petition is now on half a million signatures, and it went up by 10,000 in the past 20 minutes.

Interesting to see that no matter how old people get they're still capable of behaving like children - regarding the EU's - "If you're going to be like that, just @&^# off then!"

Is it the best deal the UK could get I suppose is the next question?

Yes, right now it is the best we can hope for, if EU don't intend to make an example of us...

So we will be poorer...that £350million (before rebate) the Leave campaign was throwing around? That will go up.

In short, we will be worse off. That is what we are heading.

except Norway have a rake of oil approx 1.9million barrels a day which is about 1 million more than the UK so they at least have that going for them. We would only be headed EEA if the next UK PM/government agrees to the terms. If it's Boris I am not sure that deal will ever make it to the table for any serious discussion as they would need to concede everything they basically fought their campaign on, although that doesn't usually bother politicians once they get in power

Well no-one knows until we sit down round the table with the other 27 countries. It depends if the current "we want you gone quickly" bitterness softens a bit. Which I guess is why there's no hurry among the government to to push the Article 50 button just yet and kick start the process. There'll be a cooling off period, which is probably good for all concerned other than the markets which will hate the uncertainty.

Just do nothing and tell the public via adverts on ITV2 that we've left.

Let's get fracking! That can only end well, right?
