And every time we were out-voted, may as well not have been there.

We were 1 voice in 28, now we're one 1 voice in 1.

By the time we've lubed up and agreed to the various things the EU will stipulate so we can trade on anything approaching sensible terms, we'll be more like 0 voice in 27.

And you are happy to be controlled in this way?

The sooner the EU goes the better.

Why should any country control any other...Its like a soft core invasion.

The EU doesn't and never has "controlled" us.

Negotiating for the best position for your group is not control. unfortunately there are about 500million people in the rest of the EU and 65 million in the UK. Many people will soon learn the powers of collective bargaining...

i meant they might change. Even if do change, either way, we are not in it.

and that is fine that you want to be self governing, I get that. But what does that mean exactly? It means we have rights to do what that we didn't before? What specific restrictions in the membership that you so opposed on exactly? Instead of a general stick a finger to the suits in Brussels.

Because I like free movement of goods and workers, I like cheap flights into Europe, I like not having to pay import tax on buying things from France or Italy or Germany.

Based on the EU's track I would say it's very unlikely to change. Heck, even key remainers started talking about "reform" of the EU during the campaign, which was quickly rubbished by President Juncker. The EU is about what it's always been about - more countries, more powers, more centralisation, less democracy.

It means protecting our freedom and our ability to self determination, something our forefathers fought and died over.

This is democracy in action in the UK, an elected house showing its teeth and power against the executive. By contrast the EU is an elected, unaccountable elite.

The EU has controlled us in many ways, being unable to create our own trade agreements with other countries is one. Giving only 20% of the fishing quota in our own territorial waters is another. There are many more deeply entwined ways with how the EU has a strangle on many things in the uk.

Son-Dad I want to go play on my Bike...

Dad- No

That is control.

I don't think it will be long until we sort out a trade deal with BMW and Germany generally. Probably before the year is out, if our politicians have lifted their jaw off the floor by then.

Not going to happen.

You were getting reamed by the EU before Thursday, you just didn't know it.

The EU is finished, the early bird will catch the worms.

I'd go and look up how statistics and probability work before making another post about the subject...

No thanks, I'm fine.

If you're delirious enough to think the remain vote was as close it was from informed votes only, I feel sorry for you.

edit: I removed an insult in the interest of forum friendliness. :p

I'm so happy for the fishing industry. That industry will boom.
