***The Official OcUK Lego Thread***

Dem ladders, why did they design it like that? :(

I've not picked mine up yet, but I will definitely add spacers to straighten them out.

So it's like a bunk bed couch? Is that what it's like? That's weird. If you're sitting in the top middle, how are you gonna get down without climbing over someone? If you're sitting on the bottom, and you're watching TV, are you gonna have to watch through a bunch of dangling legs? Who's gonna want to sit on the bottom? It is literally the most useless idea I have ever heard.

Minimum order £10 and I can't even find his postage. I would use that site a lot more but I find it a complete ***** to navigate and find postage/total costs.

You order what you want and then it sends it to the seller, who then emails you back with the total costs with postage included, you then pay via paypal to their email address. Think its done like this as lots can be as little as a couple of bricks, or hundreds, so you cant really work out what the postage costs will be until the stuff is packed. Bought a fair few bits from there and never had a problem :)

Yeah that's fair enough it's just hard to judge whether it just cheaper to get one of ebay for £10-11 when you have no idea of the postage :)

Nice Dan, let me know how solid it is for being carried around :) The videos it looks solid. Shame about the minifig line up :(

Shame they aren't giving away the same poly bags as the americans are getting this month.

Even at £129.00, that is, at a guess, a 1,000 piece build if my Red Five is £170 at 1500 pieces.

That is 1/5th of the size of the UCS Falcon.

There have been 3 Falcon sets previously in the £100 - £130 range, with between 700 and 1200 pieces. I'm hoping for something there.

Yeah i know those prices wont include any UCS sets, but im hoping for a re release of the Falcon set, so many people have cried out for it, Lego would surely make one considering the 'want factor' of 10179?

Like it says in the link, there is NO WAY they will release the ships before the movie comes out.

Wanna take a bet on that? :p

The rebels stuff was in the shops month before the series aired. They will want the main ships from the trailer in the shops for Xmas. We have already seen the falcon and the xwing and a pilot. They can easily pump those out. Also by then we can expect to have learnt much more about the film.

Also Lego never sticks all the main characters in one or two ships. Just like the rebels stuff they spread it across so you have to buy 8 or so sets to get all the figures from the series. They will do the same. So having some or all of it in the shops will change nothing regards spoilers for the film.

There's no way they will go into xmas with this stuff not in the shops. Feel free to quote me next year :D

I can't see them ever re-releasing a set that goes for 4 grand. It would wee over the people that bought it in the first run with the promise of it being limited. I imagine they will make another tweaked one eventually but I don't think the demand for a £400+ set would be as huge as people think other than people buying to sit on as an investment.

Really tempted to collect the star wars microfighters :D

In hindsight I wish the only sets we got into were the Death Star and Micro sets. They take up less room and are better toys. I should then have army built off ebay for my son in individual figures. Too late now though :D

On the flip side though, the movie will probably kick start the second hand market for the UCS Falcon again, so if there are people out there chasing £4000 sets I wouldn't be surprised if the accountants in Lego fancied dropping a £400 set and cashing in on the action.

I can't see it happening though, and I'd actually rather a smaller one I can display easier.

I don't think the numbers would be worth it, Star Wars isn't really ever about chasing adults that will drop £400 on a lego set. It's the £80-120 falcon that just about every kid I know owns, that was a xmas or birthday present.

Even the Death Star at £275 there are very few kids that will actually own that, I imagine. £400 Falcon wouldn't sell in high enough numbers to be profitable against a £120 set.
