***The Official OcUK Lego Thread***

Reading this thread brings back so many memories, if I had room I would love to buy some of these but I just don't.

Plus the kids would probably destory them.

Over the next couple of months I'm thinking of buying a few sets - Lego crane, X5 and Tumbler are on the wishlist :)

What surprises me most is the price offered on auction sites and some shops are far more expensive than just buying from Lego direct!

Awesome. So you can buy from the German site to get delivered to the UK?

Bought! How do I keep this a secret from the GF?

If the new TIE and F40 weren't incoming this year I'd snap that 24 Racer up, but as above, I just don't feel enough love for it even at that .DE price.

Decided to rebuild the Williams f1 team race forgot how bloody big the thing is. Really need a new sticker set as the original went brittle and broke :(

2.5 hours into the 24 Hour Racecar and I'm only on page 52 of a 250 page book!

I think Lego made a serious boo boo not putting this set in numbered bags. Its hard work at times!

Took 8.5 hours in total but my 24 Hour Race Car is finished!

It was a really complex and, at times, rather challenging build but I think it looks great.

Some pics and some side by sides with my rather dusty GP Racer:

Now that there built I can understand why the 24 Hour car has had a price hike over the GP Racer. The GP is a bit larger, but there is far more 'too' the 24 car. The piece count must be significantly higher. I do think the GP was a more educational build though. The way the engine, gearbox and pushrod rear suspension all came together as a unit that was then 'bolted into' the chassis was great. The 24 car was a bit less realistic.

But considering I got it for £60 I am very happy! I paid full RRP (£79) for the GP so this was a steal!
