***The Official OcUK Lego Thread***

That wasn't quite it finished - still one bag to go (you can see it on the left, actually 5 bags :D)

Now with added trim and ladders and what not. Oh and that little friend is back! :D

669 steps, just shy of 4,000 pieces and OW MY FINGERS ARE SORE!

Sore fingers!? Wait until you take the thing apart again!

I bought this last week. Built it, played with it, took it down, built B model, played with it, took it down, and rebuilt it for a final time (Just to check all bits still remained!)

Any tips for taking the models apart? (Other than the blindingly obvious)

I'm always worried the bigger models will be super difficult to build without the parts being separated into stages as they are in the new bags... I wondered about taking them apart slowly by following the manual in reverse and putting the bits back into freezer-bags but couldn't decide if that was way too time consuming

Honestly I'd just break them down (carefully of course!) and toss it all into as many bags as you need sorted by brick type. When it comes time that you want to rebuild empty all the bags out and get Knolling - set a table/desk aside just for that purpose and lay it all out. Actually kinda relaxing tbh!

Could also use bags emptied into boxes/pots when it comes to building and again grouping by brick style/connector type!

Oh yeah pre-sorting the pieces takes a while but it's very satisfying when it's all neatly placed in front of you! Just make sure you leave enough space to build in and watch for round things that like to roll EVERYWHERE!

Nice! I got mine for about a tenner less a while back from Tesco. Think I'll give the Technic a miss for a few days. Probably shoot for the Falcon next :)

I bought the Arocs 6 months ago for £125 ish and only just started building it - loving it so far having completed part one.

A very cool set for the technically minded - am looking forward to the rest of the build!

That's what I've really enjoyed with the BWE - you get a bunch of connectors and long pieces and get to work and then add a few cogs, scratch your head a little bit and suddenly a gearbox appears in front of you! :D

How they actually go about designing these things just blows my mind trying wrap my brain around it! I realise CAD software can help but this is a whole other level of pre-planning :)

i saw you can buy instructions for turning the BWE into another big machine that moves little basket balls around a pretty elaborate track. i'm sure it was something like £18 for the instructions but i can't for the life of me find it. If anyone finds it can they post the link?

Edit - Found it! Its a Great Ball Contraption. Looks great, only 16EUR http://pv-productions.com/product/lego-gbc-15-42055-building-instructions/

Looks good, shame the instructions are paid for

Knolling? whatever happened to the hardmode of dumping it all out in one pile on the floor? :D

I had to do my lepin agents of shield helicarrier in hard mode, as the bags aren't numbered and there are 2996pcs, it was a marathon and a half building this thing. didn't have enough space to do any real organisation other than into piles of different colours.
