***The Official OcUK Lego Thread***

It doesn't look like it contains a single lego block though and clearly nothing is left to the imagination

I can see a few bits of common technic in there, but I see your point l there is lots of custom parts only useable for this car.

It's not actually that bad. The vast majority of it is pretty standard *modern* technic bits. Granted there are very few classic blocks with the lumps on the top, but I'd say the only special bits are really the few panels on there with stickers on.

I've got the older Supercar (8448) at my mums house. Might have to dig it out, clean it properly and get some comparison shots! Would love the classic black one at the top of this page though... One day I might buy it :p

Any tips for cleaning insanely dusty lego? Warm water and a brush is so much effort!!

Just to echo about the mini fig season 9, I found that Sainsbury's had them out and on sale.

If anyone spots any of the Lord of the Rings sets going cheap...

Well lego seems to be designed to be made and displayed on a shelf these days rather something you can build , play with get bored and turn it into something else.

I guess they would rather you buy a whole new "kit" then reuse the one you have

Are you just repeating James May's opinions because that's utter rubbish.

Go to the lego store at Legoland Wyndsor and they have a massive wall full of bins all with individual parts that you can buy by the weight just like pick and mix, just so you can get the right bits you want for whatever project you are planning.

Then they sell the creator range, which include instructions to turn the set into multiple different things. They are all standard bricks so the 3 they give youis just the start of what you can imagine

I think its either tesco or john lewis that have the orc forge for about £23.

Lego are also stocking the new legends of chima stuff. I picked up a set this morning and got to say its pretty cool. I can defo see it being a hit like ninjago.

Ahh thanks, both have it, but JL is out of stock and Tescos is still about £26 including delivery!

Contemplating getting set 9516 Jabba's palace. Very.co.uk have it on sale with £30 off and it will go with the 75005 Rancor pit when it's released early next year.

Love seeing all the Star Wars Lego in this thread. I had all the Episode 5-6 and 1-2 ships back when I was younger.

Wish I'd kept them.

I had that when I was younger =D

£250 on Amazon & ebay!

One seller with an auction with 1 day to go is at £26 which I'm watching :D

I've got a couple of UCS Models to post up ! The 5000+ Piece Falcon, and the latest super star destroyer.

On another note, what's the best way to clean huge amounts of Lego? I am thinking about selling my Falcon (£1000+ on eBay) but some of the pieces are a bit grubby from being on display. I see people put in in the washing machine here. Would I just put them inside a pillow case of something, and use cable ties to seal it up? I am guessing I should avoid detergents.

Who cares?! It's one of the best Star Wars pieces ever.

Did anyone see the Lego advent calendar in Central?

It is one of the best Lego sets, ever. Apparently its been under the stairs for a couple of months. Makes sense as she hasn't asked me to hover for awhile!

Completed bag '1' of 7 this evening, bag '1' was made up of another 7 or so bags. Ill post up pics soon.

My Dad has the Falcon, its an impressive model in the flesh, but very fragile, its broken down in a box currently but he won't 'lend' it to me. He also has the original UCS Star destroyer broken down also, like the falcon, its a very nice model, but very fragile.

Same thing I think about the Star Wars sets. :(

I'm not a massive Star Wars fan, but the Lego sets are cool just on their own as space models.

I would love the 5000 piece Millennium Falcon more for the challenge and joy of building it rather than because of what it is.

Mp3duck is my hero. I can't believe your selling the Falcon!
