***The Official OcUK Lego Thread***

Thats it, you've gone and done it now. I'm getting that Republic Fighter. I've been putting it off for weeks because I was convinced it would be much smaller than my X Wing... :D

Its only £22.46 at Asda.
LOL it was your previous post that alerted me to the price and made me give in! I had to find an excuse to give it to my son, the arrival of our baby girl did that :)

Good price though, grab it whilst you can - you know you will regret it otherwise!

Speaking of Technic, the Rescue Helecopter that is around ~£65 is on sale for £29 in Tesco Home if anyone can find any (Southampton don't have any, I've checked :D)

Dam you Hot UK Deals

My nephew got a load of lego for Christmas, I bought him monsters lego (LEGO Monster Fighters 9463: The Werewolf)

And he got Lord of the rings helm's deep (LEGO The Lord of the Rings 9474: The Battle of Helm's Deep)

Brother took some photos on his facebook and to be honest I was pretty unimpressed. The blocks look huge, I cannot imagine it took very long to build Helm's Deep and it just looked really bland compared to what I imagine it could look like. Especially seeing the detail in some of the Star Wars stuff above.

My Nephew is 9 and loves his lego, my brother says he is great at building all the stuff, so I wanted to move him onto some harder stuff that would be more challenging for him such as the Lego Technics stuff but my brother says this is to hard for him? What do you guys think?

At the end of the day its still the same task of following the instructions. Wether the pieces are traditional Lego or Technic it won't make much difference. How the bits fit together in Technic may be new to him, but he will get his head around how it works quickly.

Theres some cheap small Technic kits, get him one of those and see how he gets on?

Just found this, how awesome!

(Looks like this was mentioned in this thread back in 2008 but the link is now dead and thought it worthy of being resurrected!)

Damn you guys, you're really getting me back into Lego! I bought my first Lego mini-figure today and got...... Mr. Good and Evil. Can't wait to get some more now - don't think the girlfriend is particularly impressed though (unless I get the judge in which case shes going to steal it....)!

my sister has been buying loads to get that one, Dr Jekyll she is calling it,she has a few now but the chicken man and that one is top of her list

My boy made his X Wing this weekend, well proud of him. Previously he has gotten angry and frustrated with lego and things ended up unfinished or with me completing them.
He's 7 so should be able to follow the guides and this time proved he can, I only had to change 1 little part :D

He's well happy, just makes me want to get a Tie fighter now (vaders one if possible).

Still need to find a cheap Hulk like in my sig, they are all so expensive still :(
Also now seen the turtles lego!!! Need a mikey!!

Ordered two for my wife to collect later in the week, one for some young cousin of hers or similar who we will visit later this year, and one for me :)

Assuming I get a spare hour this evening I should hopefully be able to finish my 4x4 crawler build. Not a bad size, not as big as the Unimog but not too far off it.

Some nice Lego kits there, I didnt even think to ask for any Lego this xmas! :o

Saw this picture a few days ago, gosh I remember wanting this for xmas when I was young:

Might see if I can get one off ebay, probably going for a tidy sum.

I have that an attempted to rebuild it from my lego chest... it did not go well :( spent 5 hours looking for bits, but gave up :(
