***The Official OcUK Lego Thread***

See this is where the n+1 fine line exists between having an epic man cave level of display; instead of being seen as weird person playing with kids toys when people visit.

:D:D

What to do when your man cave has run out of space, though ? I still have the UCS Millenium Falcon, bucket wheel excavator, Bugatti Chiron and Mack truck to build. Really wanted the UCS ISS and some of these sets ( eg.dinosaur ) look very tempting.

I remember last year when my gas boiler broke down ... an engineer came around to fix it, my man cave door was open and he saw all the Lego sets on dispplay. He was absolutely transfixed and couldn't stop talking about how wonderful they were. So not all visitos look down their noses in horror :D

Realistically you've got to start cycling what's out. I broke a lot of them down and put them into storage.

To be honest it makes the house feel like a toy shop if they're all out. It's nice to have a feature piece next to some plants or between some books. Plus I get to rebuild them a year or so later and it feels fresh. Better than them sat gathering dust on a shelf.

Posted in what I bought thread as well but thought it would have a spot here too.

just had an operation and going to be off for a while, and although we don't have the same conditions as the rest of the world, I thought I gonna stay put at home for the next week or so. Therefore had these bought so I have something to do with my time and hopefully not climbing the walls that much ! :p

Yeah, I build the Star Wars BB a week or so ago and got the itch to build some more. Thought I buy a bunch of smaller sets, like the Architect ones since I been looking at them for quiet a while, but never done the leap. It was either that or splash out more money one some bigger sets, like the Apollo, Bugatti, Falcon or similar, but they all take more space as well and not sure where to put them, although would love to build them one day ! have some more smaller sets coming next week or so as well though ! :o :p

The fun thing was that in the first one I just built, there was no numbered bags, so all in a heap and build it the old fashion way ! :p

Pure lawn build no tubs\bowls?

:eek::eek::eek::eek:

Anyway, started my Pirates of Barracuda Bay build. 4.4kg and 30 bags (15 stages) of Lego to get through.

Big set!

Ha, no I put all the pieces from the gate into one box (pro build) and the Dino in another. A piece or 2 always hops out in the living room. I'd never find a brown in the grass!

I started the tantive today (arrived this morning:D). Kids did about 10 bits then got bored, my son has claimed r2d2, c3po and a bb8 lol. One thing I've found though, is the rebel helmets pop off far too easily, looking at the female socket inside its not a whole circle, it's got some cutouts in it so it can never be a tight fit, which seems strange on something that looks easy to lose.

Sorry for the bad photo.
But this made me giggle
That's the arm of Mr Arnold on ellies shoulder in the breaker room! It's even got a red translucent piece the other side of the cage ! :D

Possibly one of my fav lego details!

What do I get for my hard-mode UCS falcon? Moved house last month and so far have done that, Tantive IV, Republic Cruiser, UCS Y-wing, UCS Crawler, Tumbler and 911 GT3 RS. Today will be UCS Slave 1 and maybe the snowspeeder if I can work out which box it's in!

I moved the falcon twice to new houses since building. Didn't take it apart. I couldn't face doing that again on hard mode!
